Agree 100% with the hard pass on Reichel.

Really crazy (Dach and a 1). You want to turn into the Sabres????

Wait a year or 2 (rebuilding anyhow) Dach will be better than Eichel, regardless what the going opinion of Kirby is on the board

In the case of Eichel, he learned the cruel lesson of money truly does not buy happiness playing for an organization that can't get out of its own way

So is Dubois and Laine considered malcontents as well?

Thanks Theo - I would hate to see the #11 pick used on a goaltender....yes it is am important position, but I think a #1 Dman is a much higher need.

I wonder why you did not include Craig Anderson in your list of veteran backstops as options next season? Just wondering if there is any interest by hiss family to get back "home" before he retires?

One thing is for sure, the cap space is growing for the Blackhawks which to me is very important balance for a sound rebuild.

Grubauer no thanks he's not a very good goalie. Rather have Lanky and whoever

I've been trying to find a realistic trade scenario and landing spot for Strome, but can't think of any offhand. In my mind I keep going back to him traded to the Rangers. Maybe being on the same team as his brother would be beneficial to him. Then again, maybe some team will lose a 3C in the expansion draft and will need to fill that position.

Also, I don't think Stan moves him until he finds out more about Toews situation. With Toews the Hawks can go down the middle with Toews, Dach, Suter and Kampf. Without Toews, Strome may be given one more opportunity to fill a spot.

The Hawks spent so many years in cap hell that Cap-Based PTSD has set in.

Right now the Hawks have only two players who are even scaring a huge deal. Patrick Kane and The Cat. What the Hawks really need are a bunch of cap dilemmas - it means they have a bunch of very good players.

I don't want Eichel, but not because of the contract. To me, the Hawks' alleged interest in him suggests Toews may not be coming back.

Power enforcer

Hawk Needs:
Top Pairing defenseman
Top line forward
#1 Goalie

And those are just the first 3 needs. Just pick the best player available regardless of position. Hawks as currently constructed are no where near a playoff team, whether Colliton, or the ghost of Toe Blake is coaching them.

And those that say the Hawks could beat the Habs in a seven game series? I highly doubt it. Look how the Habs smother the Knights offense, imagine they only have to smother 2 forwards on the Hawks.

Looks like Vegas, even with Stephenson back in the line-up can use another center with Strome's passing abilities.

everything I have read has said Arvid is 6-3" and 180. I guess we will found out once training camp opens. Video of him that I have seen makes me think he has to be taller then 6-1 when he is on the ice with his teamates he generally is the tallest guy.

And look how much trouble they have scoring. They are playing that 2017 Ottawa game plan, extremely extremely conservative. Hmmm isn't that coaching, maybe not

You are kidding yourself if you think if the Hawks played conservative that they will be giving up any less goals than they currently do. Montreal has 5 veteran defenseman, each one a better defensive defenseman than the Hawks have, and Gus that basically plays power play. The forwards are better defensively than the Hawks forwards. And of course they have Carey Price to erase most mistakes. How many points did the Hawks lose last year with the veterans out on the ice in the last few minutes of the game or OT that they got scored upon? I can think of Carolina, Tampa as 2 at the end of the season for sure.

"Conservatively" would mean the other team spends even more time in our zone "oi vey!"

I would also suspect any trade talk between GM's begins with "you're not getting Dach and this year's #1" and "I'm hanging up without Dach and this year's #1." I don't look for Stan to make a deal here.

It is his personal life and nobody needs to know. Nothing criminal so stop moaning about it. If and when he's ready to say something he will.
