Idk why NHL goalies are such fragile egos, the position should be treated like Pitchers in baseball - Ride the hot hand, rotate goalies and have a group of guys who understand this - That's actually where I give MAF a lot of credit. He always handles this stuff really classy.

Roberto "You better not (frank)ing pull me" Luongo has his name on how many cups?

Exactly.

MAF is probably the best goalie of the past 20 years. His stats are identical to Patrick Roy's but yeah he's overrated and stuff.

You don't play in FIVE Stanley Cup Finals because you're lucky but again, what do I know.

Definitely not permanent I think DeBoer was letting everyone know how PO'd he was with Fleury, If TB and Vgk meet In the finals I believe It will be the first time In NHL history that both head coaches In the finals are lawyers.

Fleury might make the HOF due to his longevity. He's had a long quality career but very inconsistent compared to someone like Lundqvist or Luongo.

Goalie 1: 489 W, 2.52 GAA, .919 Sv%, 77 SO

Goalie 2: 492 W, 2.55 GAA, .913 Sv%, 67 SO

Goalie 3: 459 W, 2.43 GAA, .918 Sv%, 64 SO

You really gonna sit there and tell me one of these goalies is not like the other 3? I'll up the ante: Only 1 of them has won a Stanley Cup. In fact, he's won enough of them to cover the other two guys.

The team you play for goes a long way toward winning the Cup.

First time he won the Cup his numbers were 2.61 and 0.908. Not stellar.
Second time he won a Cup he played ONE game in post season.
Third time Murray was the goaltender of record.

So yeah, Fleury has 3 Cup rings, but his contributions are not as strong as you suggest.

Fleury was pretty amazing the year they lost to Detroit if I remember correctly though.

Fleury was the scapegoat for a lot of the Penguins playoff losses in Disco Dan's "system" where the Pens tried to play firewagon hockey with a 3rd and 4th lines full of plugs like Brandon Sutter, Tanner Glass and Craig Adams

"Get back to our game" (Dan's game where the other team gets endless odd man rushes)

I have said it before and will say it again. MAF is a head case. He blew a gold medal game in Juniors and numerous bad goaltending in Pit cost the Penguins dearly.
Team Canada never wanted any parts of MAF simply because they never trusted him.
He is a head case. When he has his head on straight he is good but when on crooked he is horrible. Cost Pittsburgh additional Cups because of Mental Illness
When you country does not trust you that says a lot.

Fleury is a spectacular, inconsistant goaltender who always played for great teams. His technique and positioning are questionable most of the time but he makes it up with great reflexes and athlestism.

You could tell he was shaky from the moment that series started with Montreal. He always has trouble playing against the Habs.

Going with Lehner in game 4 and moving forward is the right move for Vegas.
