I have no idea why there is this link to Anderson for the Pens. Is it the Burke connection? I'd rather roll with Jarry again than pay him. If he wants a one or two year deal at $2M per then sure I'll try him for a timeshare but if we were to go into next season with a guy like that penciled in as starter I think I'd rather just trade everyone for picks and hope we get lucky in the lotto.

Yeah as much as I poop on you guys there’s absolutely no point in getting a goalie that doesn’t have elite potential so the real options are basically MAF, Gibson, and Bishop.

I'm just hoping it's Gibson somehow.

He is just not very good any more. He lets in goals early in games and does not make the big save when the game is on the line.
Stay away, stay far away from this guy.

Yup and other teams will be able to offer higher quality futures than the Pens can unless there just happens to be something the Pens have they happen to like and no, I have no idea what that would be.

I think an MAF homecoming seems to make the most sense in terms of team situations. If Lehner keeps this going there really is no reason for the Knights to keep Fleury.

Ideally there would be a three-team-trade to lower his cap hit to less than 50% of what it is now, but that would be a costly magic act.

Just to get Vegas to retain 50% would probably cost quite a bit.

If ANA goes full rebuild, I'd think they want a more prospect/pick heavy return for Gibson.

Same here. That was a pretty good blog and downgraded my opinion on Andersson.

Maybe, I feel like goalies don't generally get great returns, and that return is still a lot. 3 roster players and a prospect is a lot. Maybe swap out Petts with a 1st round pick then.

I’d offer Petterson and a 3rd for MAF with 25% retained

Agree with that. Fleury or Bishop are more realistic.

With Fleury's modified NTC and the possibility they'd just want to send him somewhere he'd be happy, that's a real possibility.

I definitely agree with a 1A/1B situation next season, unless one of the goalies really distinguishes himself. However, the most important thing is to reduce the quality of the shots against regardless of who is in net (not necessarily the total number).

I think the Pens also need to develop their goalie situation in WBS. I guess their top goalie is Lagace and he is a career AHL goalie in my opinion.

Sure but how many teams are in a position to go after Gibson?

Yzerman will retain 50% for a 2022 1st and you can have the NYR 2021 2nd and COL or VGK 2022 4th in return

I think the homecoming made more sense when GMJR was there, I don't get the feeling that Hextall and Burke are interested in bringin him back.

I think Anderson has the potential to have a career from here on out akin to Halak

A lot of short term, low cost deals but with the ability to start for long stretches and steal a few games and/or series

Good value in the 2-3 Million range but nobody's solution long term

He's the ideal candidate if you actually still believe in Jarry and think he needs more time and want a backup with more experience than DeSmith

I have just heard it out there and never bothered to check the timing of when Burke was with both organizations... It is just the only reason that would possibly make sense linking the Pens to him.
