I don’t understand why players say that they want to win it for veteran players.
Don’t you want to win for yourself?
Not trying to say that the player has to be selfish, but the whole point of playing in the NHL is to win the Stanley Cup.

Good goaltending and the perfection line? I am not willing to underestimate them.

The core absolutely has what it takes to make it. In-experience and injuries on defense did them in. They could honestly run it back and they have a shot. Just hope for health. If Carlo and Miller don't get hurt they likely are still playing IMO.

They have 2-3 years left IMO before significant re-tooling is required. Not sure how long Bergeron wants to play - he's ... 35?

But they are in deep trouble if they lose Krecji and Rask. Coyle is NOT a 2C, but he's getting paid like one.

This group although quite talented, The current version of the Bruins won't win another cup.

Personally I do feel that this core will compete for a cup next year in the last true year of Bergeron’s window. I don’t think hall should be a priority this off season. Should be to keep kreji cheap. I think with him being paid so high for so long he owes the franchise a discount. resign Rask at a discount he has bailed on them during important time periods and the team has had his back. and go for Hamilton.

The two discount scenarios on any other team I would say is unlikely. But this is the Boston Bruins, they have a culture in their locker room that reminds me of the New Jersey devils during the Scott Steven’s years. Players buy into the franchise and they take pay cuts. Pasta, Marchand, bergeron, and most recently Mccavoy. It’s amazing what these guys are signing for especially when you look around the league at the time they signed.

I don’t think it’s far fetch for Hamilton to want to go back to Boston. If his goal is to win a cup.

Bruins apparently offered Hamilton same contract he accepted with the Flames.

If he didn't want to be here back then, not sure why he would change his mind now.

No frickin way would I want that Prima Donna weirdo Hamilton back on the Bruins. There's a reason why he can't stick with a team even though he has a bunch of talent. Let him go to Toronto, he'll fit right in.

I'm not sure if Miller has played an entire season. Ever.

Most games played in a season is 71. His style of play does not lend itself to making it an entire season without missing some games. Obviously over the last 4-5 seasons that has been even worse. He played exactly half of the regular season games this past year. He unfortunately seems to get hit with the oddball injury/sicknesses. Had the foot infection this season and of course the multiple broken kneecaps which kept him out of all of the 19/20 season and the tail end and all of the post season the previous year (could have really used him in the finals that year!). He took the puck to the throat the year before that. Guy just has some rotten luck...love having him on the ice though. I'd pay minimum for him again in a heartbeat.

Problem is - he wasn't making minimum. On the other hand, we get to bank half his Cap hit.

Unfortunately he's not reliable - in being there mean - so having players like him on the roster can complicate things.

One thing i dont understand is all the Kuraly hate. He makes a little over 1 million and brings energy every night. He kills penalties, plays hard and is a heart and soul type player. Any offense is a bonus.

I absolutely want him back.

Is there that much hate for him?

Coyle and DeBrusk are two not earning their keep IMO.

Kuraly underperformed this season. That being said, I wouldnt mind re-signing him but not if we can't get rid of Wags....that would be two spots that could be filled cheaper by younger guys that need ice time (Frederic, Stud, Lauko, etc.). Wags did not earn his keep in my opinion. Unfortunately he is the one with 3 more years on his contract and Kuraly is the UFA. If you could package Wags in a trade deal then by all means sign Kuraly for $1+M per for 3 years but otherwise can't keep both. The sad thing is we opted to let the best of the three (Acciari) walk and opted to keep Wags instead.

I wasn't really sad to see Acciari go. I'll take Kuralys motor over his any day. Kuraly also won 57% of his faceoffs this year. Acciari had a absolute outlier season last year. He had close to a 20% shot percentage.

That's what I was trying to say, would rather have Kuraly and Acciari than Kuraly and Wags. Obviously his season two years ago was an outlier but a 5%-6% shot % is about what you can expect out of him and this past season was more in line with what to expect.

Kuraly is decent at best. He skates hard, finishes checks 60% of the time, and that's about it. What drives me nuts about him is the fact that he goes 100mph at ALL times and ends up either falling down, doing a giant circle to get back (late), or checking no one into the boards. You don't always need to be going 110%. I understand he doesn't make a lot, but you can slide any other hack free agent 4th liner in his spot and not see any difference.

You have run out of runs. I have posted before, you will never win with rask in net.
