I was being sarcastic. I just really dont want Ristolainen - Ross77
People were down on Pionk too and he had the worst advanced analytics when the Jets traded for him. I am going to pray that we do get Ristolainen. This idea really excites me. |

Yes. The Risto rumor is out there although I'm not sure on the timing . There are definitely positives and negatives on him . On the plus side he is a physical specimen, the Finnish version of someone like Jack Roslovic when it comes to workout regimen under Ville Rintola. This kid is in seriously good shape. He can get you about a 1/2 point or more a game. It does come with some bad D though. On a better team and with a better partner those numbers might be a lot better than one would see in the stats. A decent gamble that could work out magically.
Would Risto be an accretive acquisition? It really depends on the price. There is no way I give up Heinola. That would be a mistake. However......Samberg , Niku, and a second or something similar.....done. |

I just am done with giving a up a first rounder for a rental, prospects we always have to stock up as free agents rarely look to Wpg and we dominate no trade lists
If it was a sign and trade I’d be more open |

I am not sure if you heard but Time Magazine just ranked Winnipeg as a top 100 WORLDWIDE destination.
Also if what you say is true, then its imperative that we have a leader (general manager) that can navigate through this obstacle. Unfortunately it seems that our GM has not had much success in being creative and thinking outside the box. |

people were also down on
Morrow
Sbiza
Hendricks
Bitetto
and 25 others that all turned out as expected, crap. dont trade a first rounder and a prospect, or anything really for one year of horrible D play |

The guys you mention, we all knew were going to be terrible.
I cannot wait for Jets commentators to say Ristolainen to Vesalainen shoots scores! |

Maybe even better Ristolainen (Vesalainen, Olofsson) - I'm adding Copp to the fantasy Sabres deal |

Like I said before, unless Risto is extended, there is zero chance I would do this.
Risto? I know how you feel, felt the same way, but watched him a few games the last year or so, and thought he was much improved. Seemed to have developed a mean streak in front of the net for one thing. I would now be good with him - depending on the price of course.
But I can understand how fans are down on him, used to be the same. - grahamzky
Remember how the NYR fans viewed Pionk? Those fans thought they fleeced Wpg for Trouba and there wasn't much of anything positive from those fans about Mr. Pionk. So, even if Ristos fancy stats are not that great, could it be any worse than the last two years for Jets D? |

The “insiders” are falling over each other to announce picks, I’m a little surprised as ESPN is planning a big TV show tonight
1/2 the team leaked already |

This is sad. I really liked Mason Appleton. This though does give Harkins, Vesalainen and Gustafson a chance to move onto the main roster.
Or perhaps, it allows our GM a chance to sign Trevor Lewis again. |

Stanley gamble pays off. Appleton can be easily replaced although not necessarily for the same salary. A whole lotta noise about nothing in the end.
Kraken passing on Jake Bean is a move I find quite suprising.

The talent gap between Appleton vs Harkins, Ves , and Gus is not much.

Yes the Krakens passing on Bean, and also passing on Wild goalie Kahkonen the two biggest surprises to me. At least that I know of.
Kind of spoiling the TV show tonight!

What part of the right combination of size with skill is needed?
The point has been from the start
21 years 42 teams in the finals
D has averaged 6’3” 220 lbs”
The teams come and go (ducks are on this list btw)
Even more simply for you….if the Jets have four 6’ and under D they have no chance in the playoffs |

No more comments from me until playoffs 2022 on size and toughness
Let’s enjoy the draft |
