As much as I like the player. He is not a 9-10 million dollar player.

I thought the 7x7 offer from the Avs was fair. If Landy wants to go chase money, someone will overpay him, then be stuck in cap hell. His point production without Mack/Rants was like 62% less.

Enjoy that 8-9 million he wants per year for 8 years.

All those great moves by Lou will all be for naught if they sign Landeskog.

More than that. They cleared $11M off the cap and took back only 50% of Panik's cap hit, which is $1.375M. So they had a net gain of $9.625M.

Still don't think they can sign their RFA's, Cizikas, a defenseman to replace Leddy, AND Landeskog without getting rid of Eberle and Bailey.

7x7 was too much. The fact he didn’t take it says he is only about the money. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. He is not worth any more than 6x6. Any longer it’s going to bite you. If he cares about having a real opportunity at winning multiple cups take the offer and stay.

I’m an Avs fan and love landy but once he’s not on a line with Mackinnon or Rantanen, he’s usually invisible. He won’t drive a line or make his line mates better, he does have the skills that u can’t teach grit, toughness & leadership. Does a 34/35 yr old landeskog produce as 8 mil guy chances are no and the team with that contract will be regretting it. Which the Avs are most likely trying to avoid. They have more importantly Makar and soon Mackinnon to sign. I don’t want to see him go but anything over 7.5 is too much

Really good player
but that Colorado line is one of the best, if not the best possession lines in the league
some drop is going to be very evident on his new team
Teams focus so much on clogging up the neutral zone for Mackinnon leaving him untouched.

plus his style of game won't age well in year 4,5,6,7 of that contract

Colorado should let him go... they have put up a more than fair offer...any organization willing to give 8 to 10 will sorely regret it sooner as opposed to later...

God! Please! NO OLYMPICS!!! The IOC Is corrupt, The Olympics are simply a money grab and meaningless exhibition and the NHL Olympic break just pisses off the NHL fans.

It is really getting annoying to talk constantly about how much these players should get paid. Show me the money. I think they should freeze all salaries and put a cap on the salary cap and freeze it to. Then maybe we could get back to talking about hockey and the beauty and skills of the game instead of the almighty F'ing dollar.
The money is never enough. How about when you have a piss poor year you give back some money. That is why golf is the ultimate game. You make the cut every week you get paid...........if you don't there is no paycheck. You get paid on how well you perform every week. Once you sign these long term bloated deals where is the incentive. It does not exist

4 yrs. at 7 million person Is a fair deal for Landeskog whoever signs him, When are GMs going to figure out that when you sign off on any deal that takes the player past his 32nd birthday you are asking for trouble.

Im thinking he probably gets a deal in this range:
5x8
6x7.5
7x7

Makar is likely looking for more than Heiskanen's 7 x 8.45 and MacKinnon can re up next summer so the Avs are going to finally have to pay the piper!

Landeskog is a $8-$9 million per year for next 3-4 years and that’s the problem. Is intangibles will always be there but the skill probably drops.

What do you want to pay when he’s 34-36 years old?

Flat cap I’d try to talk to him about a 1-2 year deal (similar to Hall last year)
