Is anyone watching this slop tonight? The NHL can’t get anything right. - Flyers1218
The suspense is killing me.

So, like you all know that it’s not just going to be Twarynski as the pick, right? The fact that it is him should be a pretty big indicator that there is more involved.
One of the big salaries moving out tonight is still very much in play. |

I have a pretty good feeling about it. We shall see. Vegas made what, 10 side deals last time? None of which were announced until the actual expansion draft. Why are people so fast to forget?? |

Gotta explain your thinking on this one.
Seattle is induced by the Flyers to only take Carsen AND eat one of the Flyers' big contracts? What do they get out of it? Giroux's first born child? A solid gold life size statue of Pat Maroon? |
|

|
They'll announce expansion-related trades tonight.
AFAIK, any normal trades have to wait until after the freeze is lifted. - Tomahawk
Yeah might as well tune in tonight if Seattle can announce team trades. Gotta be some announcer tonight |

Flyers trade Voracek and a first rd pick to Seattle. In exchange Seattle selects Carsen Twarynski in the expansion draft.
Replace first round pick with retained salary or Jake with whomever. That’s how this whole situation reads to me. Otherwise, why Twarynski? To stick it to the Flyers?? Makes no sense. |

I’m thinking there are side deals with flyers, islanders, Tampa, Columbus and Calgary. |

The thing about Vegas was, they made it known that they were signing Marc-Andre Fleury from day one. That’s a foundation piece. I don’t know what these picks are suppose to be. Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith in my mind you hungry guys I couldn’t believe Vegas landed. I don’t even understand what Seattle is putting together here. |

Why did Vegas take PEB? Because teams need jam and depth players.

Because it’s not a complete picture yet. Won’t be much longer though. Will start to make sense. |

See, I’m not biting your head off but I ignore these comments on purpose. It was one bad season by two player on a team where everyone underachieved, including Carter Hart. It’s apart of development and growing pains. I doubt either guy has a mirror image of last season no matter where they play. - SuperSchennBros
no worries, i dont take offense. Just trying to get in your brain on why you think we lost so much on that trade? To me it was a no brainer. Taken proven talent or potential, now if that potential was guaranteed is different. To me Meyers has had more bad games than good, and patrick hasnt done anything. Maybe if he made a jump from his first year to his second. but i didnt see any development

If that were the case their was a better option available in Connor B.
Even Hagg and Braun at their salaries have more value than Twarynski. |

I wonder why they couldn’t just do a Jake for Gaudreau swap. Calgary was rumored to be shopping him before. Both teams could use a change. Talent wise it’s a pretty fair swap.
Sure Jake has two more years but Calgary really doesn’t have much money/years tied up in anyone long term to the point it would be an issue for them. - hereticpride
From Calgary's standpoint? Age.

Also PEB and Twarynski aren’t even close. Not a good comparison other than that they both play bottom 6 roles. PEB is ten times the player. |

Lol. It makes absolutely no sense for Seattle to work out a deal where they end up selecting CT. None. |

They took 11D, I don't think Hagg or Braun were that attractive to them.
Twarynski plays more physical than Bunny.

Ha ha.
It would have been the other way around if it had happened. Unless you are suggesting that Jake was the sweetener.
I will go further. You will see little salary retained deals for what larger contracts SEA did take. Most will be picks/prospects |

Jake (25% retained) + 2022 1st for Oleksiak |
