If the Kraken are expressing interest in Rubstov its just them trying to get leverage against the Flyers for a trade imo. No way they actually waste a selection on him.

This crossed my mind as well. If that was the case I say go for it.

My issue with management isn’t necessarily management’s fault. The trade for Ryan Ellis is the perfect example. I like Ryan Ellis. I grew up in Windsor and watched him play juniors. He was both Captain of the Windsor Spitfires and world junior Canadian team. He hung out at my local restaurant/bar, so I saw him a few times. Seems like he carries himself respectfully. My issue is years of being told to be patient and we’re going young by Hextall. Making less deals. Just to go in the opposite way under Fletcher. We gave up two very young talents before their careers began. If Fletcher is going for it, the next move better be a big one that helps the present and the future.

Or you could look at it this way. They gave up one guy that reportedly told the Flyers he wanted out and a young defenseman. It’s not like the guy they got is 36. He literally just turned 30. They kept every single one of their prospects and they still have all their picks available.

So what is the complaint? What is the problem? I’ve seen nothing that says the Flyers are trading their future. All they’ve talked about is keeping their prospects and only trading their #1 for a player that will be here for years.

Had they not made this trade and came back relying on Patrick and Myers to bounce back, the CRYING in here for not changing the team would be at an all time high.

Not sure why its a waste? IF you take a player from every team, you have more players than you have room for, need some AHL guys, and what better than maybe someone that has some upside?

Why would Fletcher need to follow what Hextall did? I would bet ownership wanted something different, otherwise Hextall would still be here. I do agree that if Chuck is going to move this team to a win now approach, he has to carve out some dead weight.

Patrick needed to be moved, he wasn't doing anything here. Meyers.....what if his potential doesn't come to fruition. You are stuck with someone that isn't worth a whole lot in a trade then....... And by Very young, you mean 24 yr old Meyers? Should be entering his prime right now, and it sure didn't look like it last year.

We know you don't like the trade, you've said it tons of times. But its done. And the majority thinks its a great trade.

this weekend almost feels like when your team wins Thursday Night Football and you can just watch all the other games on Sunday with sunglasses firmly attached to face. Flyers made a huge move (that i approve!) and now it's almost like.....anything really good that happens is gravy.

can't make it to any Draft parties this weekend b/c i gotta go to a wedding in NYC but getting stoked for ACTION.

A whole lot of excitement over a huge question mark in Tarasenko for some reason. I don’t get it at all. Heads are in the sand on this one.

He's a big name despite his injury concerns and to some, he isn't Jake I guess. I'd be okay with this move if it's a straight swap and if Jake is still on the roster next season, I won't be disappointed either.

I only like a deal for him if it includes Jake going the other way.

So burden yourself with a bad contract instead of getting a cheap, serviceable 3rd pair guy? Don’t be shocked if it happens is all I’m saying.
- hereticpride

Sure it could happen, but I think Francis would want to provide Hakstol with players that he can actually win games with. Think about it, Hagg was a healthy scratch many times for the worst defensive team in the league last year.

The Krak have a choice of established NHL players from our list. I can't see them taking one of the unprotected younger guys unless we have a deal in place for them to take on some of our unwanted cap (Jake/JVR/Ghost). None of our guys will sell merch (sorry to all of you that own Ghost, Jake, or JVR sweaters) but they are established players. With the exception of Hagg, all are overpriced. You can debate Ghost too.

I'm hoping it is one of Jake, JVR, Ghost. If Hagg goes it removes a depth d and small salary. Any of the younger players we exposed I'm not worried about. I wouldn't make a sweetener deal. Unless Krak wants to flip one of their picks (Tarasenko) I'd say make your pick and move on. Leaves us options to deal with other teams.

Just read the Patrick transcript from his first interview since being traded. Can anyone answer why he wanted out of here so badly?! Seriously, no BS response because it seems to me that the Flyers supported him in every medical way possible and he seems to be projecting like he wanted out by any means necessary for whatever reason. Either he is an ungrateful, entitled little wiener or he had some sort of falling out with the franchise for whatever reason.

Not sure. I do remember when he was drafted the first thing he said was he was glad it wasn’t New Jersey. Who knows.

Imo they don’t have time to wait until they develop as well. Pressure cooker.

Don't underestimate how strongly many feel that "something" has just been off with the core and leadership group for this last decade. If the captain isn't the one being changed (and i don't condone) then who else can you trace back that entire time? Even if it's a wash trade....or maybe even a loss from a hockey trade standpoint....term and small cap savings along with a bit of a lockerroom shake up could go a long way.

A locker room shakeup wouldn’t be the worst thing. If they go that route, they’d better make sure Tarasenko’s medical report checks out, since you’re swapping a consistently healthy and productive Jake for a large question mark.

All stinko has to do is have a pulse. Getting rid of Jake contract and adding a pick other than 13 is fine. If stinko has a pulse can trade him at deadline also to be rid of his contract. Someone always bites. Or off to litr he goes and done year earlier than jake

A lot of it is people feel like they have seen enough of Jake probably. Also the last 10+ years of them not adding any player of Tarasenko’s caliber will do it too.
