It looks like Francis was far more interested in staying friends with other GMs than building a strong roster. Is it possible a GM gets fired before a franchise plays 1 game?

He is picking over price 3rd and 4th Liners like Jankrok, Gourde and Tanev. I think i would rather have Johansen over this 3.

Why would Seattle want Price? Seriously, that is missing the boat badly. No way should he have taken on that contract at this point in time with the franchise.

No side deals? You better hope and pray everyone performs up to snuff this year. I think Francis did "meh" without getting some extra middling picks for the players he chose.

He is a face and personality you can sell the fans in the early years. He's definitely good enough to keep the team playoff contenders. His contract isn't that bad.

It'll come back into question if the three goalies don't perform this year.

An expansion team has no business with a 33 year old goaltender with a 10M cap hit. It would've been a silly selection.
