Yeah I do see that side of it....I dont even know why there would be so many leaks. At the very least you'd think the NHL would want as best viewer ratings as possible this eve... - MattStrat
Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Like I get that in the journalism world you gotta be first. Go for it! Even hint at stuff like “here’s who they AREN’T taking…” or something. Now I don’t even need to watch tonight. Looking forward to the entry draft and FA I guess. It wasn’t nearly this bad with VGK |

I think it’s probably scouts in the Kracken organization. They have their insiders that they are chummy with. Speaks to Francis. I guarantee a Lou run organization wouldn’t have so many loose lips - TheGame316
Yuuuup! But it’s not just the Kraken scouts. They are working on trades as we speak so other teams know who they have and it can leak through them. |

But we don't know if they did and Malkin said no. We can speculate but don't know for sure. With Carter, one theory I heard was the reason he waived his no trade clause to come here is that he was promised he wouldn't be exposed. Probably never know if that is true but if it is, then Hexy had to do it or his word wouldn't be worth crap. - stevens87
Don't think Carter had a NTC. If I remember correctly, Carter was threatening to retire if he was moved and Hexy convinced him to come to Pittsburgh. I'm sure Hexy didn't want to expose him for that reason AND the ambiguity of Malkin's injury.
I'm not saying they should have asked Geno....although, I don't think they would have taken him coming off a "reported" ACL. There's been some people saying we might not seeing Geno until Feb or March. What kind of shape will he be in for a playoff run?

I'm sorry but Ryan Wilson has no idea what he is talking about. Again I reiterate, tanev is not a 4th line player. He is a 3rd line player on any team and a very good one. He doesn't understand the value tanev brings to the penguins and no thats not replaceable. He's not a replaceable player for what he brings. Fastest skater on the team, and the best forechecker |

You are right about the no trade, it was that he would retire, my bad! |

Idk but I like it. Keep those big contracts of jvr and voracek in Philly - 10inchTerror
Yes this is great news. 3 more years of Voracek at 8.25. Good stuff. Of course, I don't think anybody really believed he would get taken without some serious sweeteners. |

So... Someone is basically feeding Seravalli the entire list. Bettman gotta be fuming. I thought some names would leak because of agents being involved, but this is ridiculous. |

Saucy is expected to be picked from The Wild. They have just 1 LD under contract now. Perfect spot for Pettersson. |

This Seravalli guy is pretty reputable. He must believe his source is rock solid to report EVERY name. He's gonna look like a total mark if his reports are all wrong. |

Yup. Why not get two assets from those teams if you're confident you can lock up those guys in another week? It's a good strategy. |

One will be gone...to Vegas..with assets attached.
Francis is being smart. He knows that there's a flat cap and that he holds the cap space. Teams will lose smaller players in the ED, and then he'll bend them over to free up cap space later in the summer. |

How mad are all the pro-McCann trade people that the McCann trade facilitated losing Tanev? |

No doubt. I also think it will be easier to move Pettersson via a trade than Zucker. - burgh4life87
I think the opposite because of term. Only 2 years for a guy with five 20 goal seasons.
I'd call the Avs. Losing Saad and need to have cap space open in 2 years when MacKinnon gets his extension while competing now. |

I sort of expect it. Big opportunity for him. |
