Well I want Palmieri AND one of the forwards mentioned above. 😅

Perhaps it’s an over abundance of optimism, but I’m thinking (hoping) Palmieri signs for about 4.5 per. That extra million in savings whence compared to the Eberle contract, and the extra savings made via buyout will perhaps give Lou enough wiggle room to sign another top 6 winger.

What’s more, I’m also hoping that said signing would play on Nelson’s LW. Love Beauvillier and all, but I think he’s best suited to the 3rd line and bumping him down would give Pageau a legitimate scoring threat on his left side.

Pipe dream perhaps. 🤷‍♂️

I guess it's all going to depend on what they sign a defenseman for. If Suter gets $4M-ish then I don't see that as a possibility. If he takes less because he wants to win and play for Trotz again then maybe there's still some flexibility there.

I have a bad feeling there will be a strong market for Coleman coming off of two Cups where he was a pretty big contributor. Lou drafted him in Jersey so it wouldn't surprise me if he was interested in bringing him in though.

Granlund and Saad don't move the needle a ton for me, but they'd be good adds at the right price.

Yeah I know not super exciting but I believe those moves with Lee back in the mix make us a pretty formidable team.

It really should make the Isles formidable Cpt. I totally understand if Lou cannot fit Landy because of his salary demands.

Nobody is giving Landeskog $9-10M, but I could see someone going up to $8M if they were really hot on him. Still probably high for what he's worth.

I agree chief. Even 8M seems steep. With these Islanders owners they are willing to spend big. Just about fitting things with the Cap.

Losing to Tampa twice there is always the fear the Isles do not have enough offense. With Lee coming back and if Palms comes back and Wally develops as expected the offense should be good enough. Just very tough to feel secure enough thought against Tampa.

Tarasenko numbers are much better than Landeskog not even close. If tarasenko was healthy it would be a no brainer to get him.

Isles are in a win now mode. With new building opening in late November 2021, Lou and Ownership will want to put the best product possible on the ice. That said, I still Lou will look to move Uncle Leo and Hickey. He maybe able to work something out with Seattle for Uncle Leo. Maybe buyout Hickey.

Isles cannot take a chance on Tarasenko. He could be one hit from being permanently done. If he were healthy I agree, go all in but they cannot take that chance now. Too much on the line.

Landeskog stated he wanted too go to a contender. If that is true, he will find a way too make it work with the Isles. The body of work is there.

Palmieri bought a house in Jamesport on the Northfork of Long Island and spends the off season there. That and the fact he wants to be on a contender and the past relationship with Lou, you have to think he wants to be an Islander imo.

All signs point to yes. Just gotta hope he’s willing to sign for a bit of a discount to further organizational depth.

With a compliment like that he could earn a $100 bonus from Cutco. That'd change his life!
