Can we call him a bad playoff player now or do we have to wait for a few more?
- mjones242

And how did he become the second most overpaid? By far the most overpaid.
That's if we're talking about Marner had to go chop down a couple of trees and I'm not reading back.

Francis might be trying to draft Yzerman. Stevie has to pass a physical.

Hearing the Oilers are meeting with pending UFA Zack Hyman today in Edmonton.

Oh god he is in Edmonton, no way he signs there now

- Santo_44

Wherever he goes is fine. As long as we can get some kind of compensation at the very least. Not like we have much in the drafting end for next two years.
We really emptied the depth cupboard this year " going for it."

Keep marner, move out willie.
At least marner can pk and is decent defensively.

- Fakepartofme

Marner and his money are the biggest problem in the flat cap world...not even taking into consideration his playoff issues or toughness.

This team is really lacking depth and toughness in middle talent area, not $1m guys. A few $4m or 2 $6m type guys would change upfront and the back end nicely.

Moving Rielly before he walks or gets too much leverage and is very expensive, and then, moving Marner can really get this team closer to a Tampa.

Besides, Nylander delivered in the playoffs with Kefoot as his center and has great value for what he brings.

IMHO.

Plus...we need picks and prospects too.

Once upon a time back in 2016 Kenny Holland traded first round picks with rookie Coyotes GM Chayka. This was done so Kenny could move the Datsyuk zombie contract which had 1 year at 7 mil left on it. Datsyuk was retiring from the NHL to move back to Russia and play in the KHL. He's still playing there by the way.

Holland now believed he had the cap space to sign UFA Stamkos. Stamkos didn't want to talk to Kenny. So then Kenny blew his cap space on 32 year old 3C Frans Nielsen. 6 years. 5.25 mil AAV. He also signed UFA's Thomas Vanek, Darren Helm and Steve Ott. Months before this he gave Justin Abdelkader a 7 year contract extension.

So Chayka drafts some kid named Jacob Chychrun and Kenny takes BC Junior League Defenseman Dennis Cholowski. "Elite hockey IQ" Kris Draper says. Chychrun plays in the NHL right away and is currently a top 2 defensive stud wasting his best years in Glendale.

Cholowski is still trying to find himself as a tweener NHL defenseman. I always hear the same thing. He's only 20. He's only 21. He's only 22. Now he's only 23. Good luck, Dennis. Here's to you and your underwhelming pro career. I hope you and your elite hockey IQ are a great fit in Seattle.

In other news Kenny Holland is re-signing 78 year old Mike Smith to a 2 year contract extension. 👍

Agreed

Then Engvall could slide right into full time 3c 🥰🥰🥰

- Garnie

He could slide his body down a slide and leave his head up top with that neck but I DGAF, he's pure hot garbage, soft as slime yet you want to move him to 3C???

Between your love of Engvall and "trade Willie" stance, jeeezzuuss Garnsie?!?!

yes, yes I am.. We had McCann for 4 days..
- PatC80

Think of it this way.
Would Seattle trade McCann for Hallander and a 7th?

Plus the leafs would lose kerfoot

Or

Leafs trade Hallander and a 7th to hold on to kerfoot.

If the leafs decide to trade kerfoot do you think he fetches a better return the Hallander and a 7th with only 750k salary this year?

He's garbage and you can't change my mind.

25 isn't young.

Big doesn't matter when you're soft and don't hit.

Fast but too lazy to use it consistently.

$1.5m wasted.

He's an ECHL Micheyev. He has no hands, creates nothing, hits nothing and occasionally gets a goal from the high slot....yiipppeeee!

Hate hockey players like him. Pick something and be really good at it. JUST.ONE.FU3KING.THING.PLEASE.

1 less goal than Kerfoot in 14 less games.

So something or a lot of things is wrong there.
