Jesus, look at how much room Seattle has next year. They drafted a lot of one year left contracts

Again I made the mistake of back reading the comments. Ffs some people even if you dumb it down to the simplest form just can't get it. You can hate Dubas all you want peeps but the trade was pretty smart and sneaky.
So here is my simplest version of the whole kit and kaboodal and I'm leaving out specs and picks to not confuse some people, they were just meh anyways. Just going by rumoured names as well cuz its just that rumours till tonight.

What the Leafs lost off there original roster = Nuttin
What the Leafs gained to there original roster = Nuttin
What the Pens lost off there's = McCann and Tanev
What the Pens gained to there's = Nuttin
What the Kracks gain to there's = McCann and Tanev
What the Kracks lose to there's = Kerfoot because Dubas pulled a fast one.

All said and done, Leafs stay the same, Pens lose two players and Kracks end up with McCann and Tanev but they could of had McCann and Kerfoot. Leafs for the win IMO.

1 less goal than Kerfoot in 14 less games.

So something or a lot of things is wrong there.

- joel878

Kerfoot is a decent player, hits more than Engvall, scored only 23 points last year but was second in scoring on the team in the playoffs. Engvall scored at least 4 goals during garbage time, when the season was basically over. Unfortunately, he's crap and so is Mikheyev.

Marner and his money are the biggest problem in the flat cap world...not even taking into consideration his playoff issues or toughness.

This team is really lacking depth and toughness in middle talent area, not $1m guys. A few $4m or 2 $6m type guys would change upfront and the back end nicely.

Moving Rielly before he walks or gets too much leverage and is very expensive, and then, moving Marner can really get this team closer to a Tampa.

Besides, Nylander delivered in the playoffs with Kefoot as his center and has great value for what he brings.

IMHO.

Plus...we need picks and prospects too.

Stop making sense. It'll do nothing but get you roasted around here.

Engvall is fine
Young, big, fast and cheap

It is the coaches job to motivate him to hit or sit🤷

- mr.sir

There it is, the bullpoop word, "fine" - it's code for "playing too far up the lineup for his skillset, but I'll pretend it will work"

A Leaf thread classic.

I would make the argument that all 3 are largely dog poop and we could do without.

But if we had to keep one, it would be Engvall at 1.2 for me. Regardless of what filters one wants to put on it his 7 goals at that dollar amount make him the most useful of the group in my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's exactly why he should not be our 3C. He plays like a 1.25 M player.

Can we call him a bad playoff player now or do we have to wait for a few more?
- mjones242

So hes a bad playoff player that leads the team in playoff points since he came into the league.

Kerfoot scores at roughly .5 pts per game, not outstanding, but he's tenacious and will hit. Engvall scores at about .333 pts per game and will not hit at all. This is an awfull look for a player that is 6'5" tall. I get the salary angle, but at the moment, lots of minimum wage guys around that are much better than Engvall. IMO Kerfoot would bring a return in a trade, Engvall would not.

He kills penalties, scores 90 - 100pts in a season.
Willi had a good playoffs playing against the opposing teams 2nd best defenders.
Marner/Matthews both got shut down by montreals best, who also shut down top centers and top lines of the teams they played the next two rounds

It's going to be a big Gary Bettman theatrical crap show like the draft.
Yeah, maybe not.
Isn't there a trade freeze?

TSN is saying kudos to Dubas for a shrewd bit of stick handling. He didn’t want to lose Holl or Kerfoot and he didn’t.

I do not think we will see another Vegas in the first season.

Also the goalies better hold up. If not there will be questions about not taking Price.

Between your love of Engvall and "trade Willie" stance, jeeezzuuss Garnsie?!?!
