I actually don't hate what he's created. Lines 2-4 look really good. If he can add two top line scorers in FAgency or trade (with all that cap space) that team looks good.

And all the contracts are pretty short so far so lots of tradeability.

Couple of weird ones but I expected he'd avoid the JVR's, Domi's and other poopty contracts.

McDavid is special and this might actually prove out to be a much smarter move by Edmonton than I first thought.

But, other than for very exceptional players, no team should ever up the salary and term of any player over the age of 28.

the difference over a season of Kerfoot vs Mccann cant be much at all.

Good to see our forward ‘depth’ dwindle even more. Honestly, this team does not have the prospect/AHL depth to sustain itself. Tampa did a great job promoting from within. We get stuck with guys like the giraffe... and we wonder why we cant win in teh big show...

Dubas better have some magic up his sleeve because we only have 3? years left of Matthews?

Further to Friedge's report: Word is that an eight-year contract for Hyman with the #oilers would come in a shade under the $5.125M AAV on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' recent deal.

A seven-year contract for Hyman would be closer to $5.5M AAV.

I would love to see the sign-and-trade scenario with Zach Hyman. If only to shut people up from saying that type of deal would never happen.
