If we have Darksyde with us, I might then say that I had a vegetarian burrito with chanterelles cheese fondue stuffing today and it was great. Much greater than Mr. Peanut's runs.
- Réal_Ruelle

Omg, that sounds awesome given a soft cheese and herb stuffing in a chanterelle would be delicious, especially served on a crusty baked bread, with a French onion soup au jus...

It’s hard to say who is good defensively on a Buffalo team but his offense will come in handy. Better than Gustaffson

Risto has been playing out of his comfort zone for YEARS here in Buffalo! He is a gifted offensive defensman but has been tasked with playing a physical game that takes you out of position a lot that causes a breakdown in the d zone. This is because our Other Sabres defensemen are soft. I’d personally hate to see Risto against us when he’s played to his strengths. Plus RHD is a hot commodity in the NHL currently.

well, no one suggested gus to be a #1 d-man. risto pales in comparison to other guys on the same team.

he put up some pp points. but then, he has never had a 60 point season like gus.

he is the worst 5v5 d-man in the league in a lot of metrics.

petry is the habs de facto #1. btw.

he's terrible. and no one thinks gus is a #1. ever.

not to mention that whenever risto is on the ice, the other team is spending a lot of time in your zone. the guy gets caved in nightly.

he does well on the PP. i will say that.

I know there's always the "change of scenery" theory, and Staal did finally start playing better in the post-season, but that definitely doesn't sound like something the habs would currently need on D, especially at a high cost.

we only hear about the change of scenery when it works, tho. it gets forgotten when it doesn't.

he has been in buffalo for 8 seasons. at this point in time, i am going to lean to him being more the problem than solution type.

Gus 60 points was a few years ago doesn’t mean Ristolainen cannot do it

Even if he is not so good defensively have got like Chiarot to back him up and if he can generate more offensive chances it’s worth the risk.

Petry is the #1 but I also recall he was pretty bad in +/- in EDM

He's a tire fire. Let it go. If you actually watched him you'd know you don't want him

Not my first choice of coz vs some other RHD but not that bad have watched him since his early days to now, defense has gotten better, may work as 2nd pairing

Hains: Bergevin Gambled and Won

Marc Bergevin’s decision to expose Carey Price and protect Jake Allen paid off in the end and the Canadiens will have both of their goaltenders to start next season.

- Karine Hains

Did he though?

I am still on the fence as to whether he won.

I think we will have to play lefthanded Ds on the right side. I don't see Hamilton signing with Mtl.

There are some rumors on HFBoards that the Habs are trading for Ristolainen.

He's hot garbage and has one year left on his deal which means trading for him means paying for him long term. One step forward, two steps back. His offense doesn't make up for utter lack of defense

I've been saying this for a bit and would rather that than get tied up in contracts with poopty players just because they shoot right. This many holes are hard to fill in one off season and the Habs are already borderline missing the playoffs, not sure how many long term risks I'd take to try and sneak in

I mean, Petry also sucked while playing with the Oilers...Ristolainen could be a good pickup if they can teach him to play defense.

So you want to trade a bunch of assets and give out a UFA contract to find out if they can teach an 8 year NHL vet to do the primary activity his position requires? That's not a wise strategy in my books...rather a terrible one
