Why would u want Gio over Dunn? Gio will be 38 when the season starts and if the only reason I want him is to flip him at the deadline that’s a bad idea. The guy has played in a grand total of 23 playoff games in his 15 year career and is coming off a very poor season by his standards which is one of the reasons they exposed him.

Another note regarding Gio. He does have a mNTC.

Supposedly there’s no side deal for Francis taking Bayreuther from CBJ. That’s a real head scratcher. 27 years old and has played only 28 NHL games.

Bayreuther is a UFA next week. They likely took him because there weren't any better options and are just going to let him walk.

Because I still think he is a good fit and has a ton of PK experience. I would not be upset if they get Dunn but are you dealing Strome for Dunn?

I'm sure there are a few deals to be announced after 1PM (if not leaked in advance). Don't be surprised if Tyler Johnson either winds up in Seattle, or they eat some cap and flip him to another team. TB still.has work to do to sign players on the cheap, but they have to find space to do it.

I dont want Dunn for a couple of reasons…
1. He needs an extension now. It wont be crazy but it will be plenty. Its more $ locked up next year which we dont really need.
2. It essentially means were done with Robertson as a potential member of the Rangers which I would be incredibly disappointed about.

Is Gio my first choice, no. But hes a leader and former Norris trophy winner. I dont like that Strome was rumored to go the other way, was hoping to get a bit more there.

The best player we could get in the 1999 Expansion Draft was Yannick Tremblay. The Seattle Kraken passed on Carey Price and Vladimir Tarasenko.

Tyler Johnson still has a full NTC, so he needs to fully cooperate

Although to be fair Mollie walker ran with it too and wrote a whole article about it lol

Let’s just say last night was a bad night to be a rangers beat writer.

Elliotte Friedman mentioned on the pod that he knows the Rangers have been talking to Seattle, Giordano is likely going nowhere but the Rangers might be targeting Carson Soucy

Isn't that why they passed him through waivers earlier in the year?

they passed him through desperate to see if someone would take him off their hands and nobody wanted him (and they did that as part of attempts to be able to play Kucherov before season ended which is hilarious)

he could still stay in Tampa if he wants and there really isnt much they can do other than send him to AHL

but that only saves Tampa 900K

they are still really stuck unless they get Johnson to cooperate

so really it doesn't matter how much Tampa is willing to include in a deal to get rid of Johnson, he still has final say, and still has a salary with no state income tax taken out in Florida

Seattle has definitely traded Pitlick, that's a definite, likely to Calgary

The incentive for him to accept a deal is to play in the NHL, so no good reason for him to turn down a trade, even to a hellhole like ARZ, since he's likely get flipped to a contender at the trade deadline. He's from Washington, so if Seattle wants him he's likely to waive his NTC.
