Obviously we'll never know, but I really hope that Stan was at least trying to get in on the Ladd and Ghost deals. Maybe they were asking for more than AZ, but AZ got a lot for just $$
- tvetter

Id prepare yourself...based on what I read from Bowman's presser....it didn't sound like he's shopping cap space for assets back. I don't see them taking on a turd contract for pick(s) and/or prospects. Think they are past that stage in their internal expectation of where they are in their rebuild/retool.

Ladd was not good enough to even get dressed on a 4th line and Ghost is not the type of D Hawks need.

Lori is this you?

Hahahaha - my main practice area is real estate law. Have to put out good vibes for Chicago real estate!

There are definitely huge problems in Chicago. If someone could figure out how to rehabilitate the south and south westside neighborhoods it would solve a lot of problems (not to mention increase property tax revenue big time).

Guys over on the Score just did a big fundraiser to raise money for grocery store (forget which neighborhood). It's pretty sad to think in American there are entire urban areas that don't have access to a real grocery store.

We shall see - the demographics and projected demographics I’ve seen indicate because of increasing youth and “incoming” from “blue” states, the states I mentioned are increasingly turning Democratic - or at least becoming more “purple”.

Georgia just elected a Democratic African-American and a Jew to the Senate, in addition to giving it’s electoral voted to the Democrat - Texas may be in play in 2024 and 2026 - Arizona has Democratic Senators and went for Biden in 2020….

But it seems like it doesn’t take much to turn the demographics around, especially over a several- year period, so…we’ll see.

So only states/counties .municipalities with a majority of registered Democrats elect African American's and Americans of Jewish religion, ethnicity, and/or culture?

I think that works on both sides......too many people toe party lines regardless of looking at the performance of said leaders. This country MUST start putting in term limits. IF the presidency can only be 8 years, why can these career politicians lock themselves into seats for decades.........

On top of that, for the life of me, if I lived in Chicago I would really hope there would be a MASSIVE upheaval of leadership down there.....How a Kim Foxx and Lori LIghtfoot get re-elected is truly remarkable.

For those of us who travel for a living, it's embarrassing to have to address the crime of the city. "is it really that bad....." I have ZERO Chicago pride. IF I resided in a neighborhood where almost every night in my neighborhood I had gun shots going off, people being shot/killed, mugged, car jacked, I am 100% likely to NOT vote in the same idiots who run on change, but do nothing once elected. That goes for either party.

- SteveRain

Kim Foxx is a joke. Lightfoot isn't far behind. I think the other day Lightfoot said 95% of her critics are either racist or homophobic..... um ok.

I'm pretty liberal too. Hate them both.

I also used to work for the City of Chicago. Posters on here don't even want to know what used to go on with City of Chicago employees!!!!

Agreed on both your posts....every area should have a grocery store within walking distance. Great on the score's part.

I would be afraid to ask about the city job.......

This is certainly a part of it - they want what they’re leaving behind, but with better weather and a lower cost of living.

What was the mantra in the Northwest States back in the 70s - don’t Californicate Oregon….

- StLBravesFan

Yep...but it happened anyway

Moved to a brand new subdivision in Portland area as a kid. 14 houses on our street. 1 native Oregonian family (us), the rest from California.

What he was saying, and Sage correct me if I’m wrong, is it was a surprise to see a black Democrat and a Jewish Democrat get elected in a traditional Red State like Georgia.

That said let’s get back to hockey before someone bows a gasket, and I’m not alluding to Ron Jeremy.

Please don't shoot the messenger for referencing EK/Hockeybuzz frontpage rumors, but if the Kings are open to moving Lemieux, I would love to have him. Not too many on the current roster putting any fear into opponents.

I would love to get back to hockey, too bad we end up with drive-by posts that cause car crashes.

I didn’t mean anyone in particular. It’s funny, it starts innocently enough about the tax rate in different NHL cities then it takes an abrupt turn.

Getting rid of a Jesse Jackson and his gang of crooks would be a start. How many years has he been saying he is helping the minority? Would you be going to the same mechanic if every year you brought your car in for the same problem? Eventually you have to say, either this guy doesn't know what he is doing, or I am an idiot for believing him.

Common Chunk, I'm always hoping for improvement

1 quality i like between Kalynuk and Mitchell, then i started to see Bo do this, not sure what to do they go back to the front of the net

Don't really see it coming from Z, Stillman is a wait and see for me

- BetweenTheDots

That's why I asked the question. Some on here have a bit of an itchy trigger finger for guys that aren't studs right away.

I agree on your point about their play. I think Z gets too caught up with engaging with opponents (unless on the PK. I actually think he does a really good job there).

I know nobody can smoke his meat like Ogi, but I just put a Boston Butt in the cooler to fester, after 16 hours at 250 degrees. Pulled pork sammiches in two hours. I'd send some to you, but no way it survives inspection at the border.

Yeah, Ive said all I need to say.....each their own.

Hockey wise....think we have exhausted all opinions on the most logical trades, UFA signings, draft picks....more of a wait and see approach by me unless a blue check mark breaks something Hawks related.

Still think they are going to make a play to add somebody who helps them win now more so then say....4+ years down the road....just a hunch.

Before Game 1, imo, they need vets on defense to take the hardest minutes. Unless they think the kids are ready for that. I don't. Murph, Z and de Haan can do so, but the board wants two of them gone. So......

HE's an artist the way he rips crap off of twitter and claims it as his own. 99% of his live chart is found on twitter moments before he credits himself as the source.

It's a remarkable game he plays. I was watching the NHL trade deadline show back in the late 2000s or early 2010s and the guy who hosted said "if you want rumors that will never happen, go read Eklund"......so there's always that......

Love me some pulled pork, but can you, or have you ever smoked a brisket? It took me a few tries but now I can smoke a brisket and it turns out really good every time.

That is because no one was going into work. Everything was remote.....the Mag Mile is fine.

The Loop and River North are still pretty light on foot traffic and will continue to be that way until everyone is back in their offices.

What about all those abandoned malls and strip malls in the suburbs?

- bhawks2241

Relax big boy. The burbs have their faults also and if living in an urban area is your thing that's fine too. It's just not for me anymore.

As far as red/blue/purple state. I don't care much there either. I have no use for politicians whose only concern is getting their egos stroked, looking at their constituency as a revenue resource and constantly running for re-election.

Meanwhile, Ghost moved, Kraken with their 1st trade, other teams with trades and signings. What is Stanley doing?
