depends on what side you're on.....if you express opinion against poster in question, seems his army of defenders come out to support him and NOT all posts debating his view points are personal attacks. that's the issue. Generalizing all as snowflakes/trolls/hypocrites IMO is as bad as the name calling when others attack his view point.

Anyone's view point isn't narrow minded regardless of affiliation. PLENTY of blame to go around on both side's of the aisle.

In the end it's best to agree to disagree......as the days of having any sort of civil conversation is LONG gone in this country. Now it's a matter of deflecting and blaming the other side when anyone dares question anyone....see the beloved mayor Chicago just a few hours ago.

And yes, this isn't the site or place to debate such topics.....think it's fair to put the politics to bed......would love to say the same about the legal matter going on with this organization, but Ive already been called a horrible human being and wished ill wishes towards......but IMO.....until their is a resolution all the lawyers on both sides are doing is attempting to sway public opinion and in the JOHN DOE position....a likely settlement for her client. And when I say "resolution" I mean a LEGAL one.....

I don't care what opinion is expressed. I am an adult and will simply scroll on by political posts. The truth is there are plenty of political posts from a few posters but the only one who seems to get called on it is one poster.

I stand by my narrow-minded comment if reference to that one particular poster.

I have only seen the plaintiff's lawyer leaking info. The other side has been largely silent aside from a few responses.

Waiting to see more sources. If true, the Blackhawks are going to be in trouble with a majority of their fans. You don’t change for a bunch whinny narcissistic idiots.

And, while the media has been trying to do this all along, now the other players have been officially implicated, I'd suspect partly to confirm the "everybody knew" statements. Sounds like this player stayed with the team after 2010?

Did they add the player as a defendant? If not, why?

well isn't it the job of the plaintiff's lawyer to create enough doubt that the defense can win their case and likely get the settlement she wants?

Hawks have nothing to leak....what CAN they leak? Bowman, Chevy, Quenneville all have come out saying they had no previous knowledge. It's really a game of he said vs he said and unless their is video or a direct eye witness who goes on record I don't see how the plaintiff wins. The "independent investigation" is the Hawks CYA move of making sure everything was on the up and up. What else can come out of this? From there...it's really opinion and who's side you believe.

The Canadian media, Chicago media, national media have done a number pursuing that pool and we can all see it here by the random people from other teams blasting this team for it.

Sure but really....what else can be said? What new thing came out today that can be actually proven? More alleged things with no reported witnesses, or proof via recordings, etc.

yes it does involve the Hawks, but so did the Kane thing years ago and that was squashed quickly on here...guessing that this should follow suit.

IN the end for me.....somebody somewhere is full of poop. it's either John Doe, a disgruntled ex player who after years away now wants a cash settlement and is piggy backing off of a past indictment against said peder-ass where it's more of a believeable story now......OR....this horrible alleged act did happen, people in the organization did know and tried to sweep it away after a championship season.......what else am I missing?

i saw athletic tried to reach out to McDonough numerous times and he hasn't responded.......

Gotta give it to her on her sense of timing - lots of Stan public appearances likely this week.
- pdx2ord

She's using the ammunition she possesses; doing her job.

Her best card is probably the "inflamed public" card. It aggravates me, personally, but it is her duty to use all legal means to represent her clients.

I guess. Trial by public opinions always makes me think your case isn't strong, tho. I just get the feelin she is trying to force a settlement. That leads me to believe the attorneys for the Hawks feel their case is strong or they are just going grind her down financially.

I would be interested to know how she is being paid for this suit.

- Elbows15

99%+ chance it is a share of the proceeds. She is absolutely trying to force a settlement, which she will get if she survives the motions to dismiss. It is unlikely that we will see any testimony.

I'm the guy who gets ridiculed for give them 200 to 250 games before Blackhawks decide on getting rid of them
- BetweenTheDots

I think it's highly unrealistic to "throw boys out there and expect them to be men." There is no set time table to when they actually mature mentally, physically and understanding the game but I highly doubt it's in the first three years. The superstars are the exception and I haven't seen any of those since 19 & 88.

Before Game 1, imo, they need vets on defense to take the hardest minutes. Unless they think the kids are ready for that. I don't. Murph, Z and de Haan can do so, but the board wants two of them gone. So......
- mohel

Not really they simply want two other medium priced vets to female dog about they aren't Keith and Seabrook in their prime like our medium priced vets are worse than somebody else's medium priced vets.

I personally think they are going to target a top tier defensemen.....shocker. its been reported before they traded Keith, they traded Keith, bowman today brought up the number of #1 D men in the NHL...too much smoke around it. No idea who said player is, but i think there is TOO much smoke to ignore the possibility of it.

As far as the 3 you mention......IMO

1. Murphy--shop him and only trade him IF you can acquire said top d man above AND you get a massive return here
2. Zadorov....I don't see any reason to pay him long term. 1 year deal at 3 aav? Ugh...I guess but DeHaan can't be on the roster as well. Any more than 1 year, I just dont' see the value going there based on what he's shown. What is he? a 2nd pairing guy? Likely a 4th or border line 3rd pairing guy on a cup contending team? That's my issue.....while Hawks aren't a cup contender, over paying him to slot him over his own skis seems foolish
3. Dehaan.....too fragile to keep, and I lost all confidence in him when he back peddled his way almost on to Lankinen's lap vs Carolina and gave up a goal in the last seconds vs Carolina. he is just bad.....let him be somebody else's problem.

Seattle thought so highly of both of Z and DeHaan they went elsewhere for D help....that to me isn't a great sign the market is strong for either and/or both.

- SteveRain

More than likely yes they won't bring back much - anything - nothing - no takers?

1. Bowman trades for Jones for a reasonable price
2. Jones plays at a Norris trophy candidate level
2. Bowman gets fired
3. New GM is hired
4. New GM is lauded as a genius for acquiring Jones

That makes my lawyer senses tingle. NOT GOOD, if true. Perhaps that is why certain players have spoken about it recently...... wouldn't be surprised if those are the gents that were leading those name calling sessions.

I disagree. I think something did happen. It is more of a question of are the Blackhawks liable. We can’t always assume accusations are a money grab.
