Lets start here - tomorrow I hope the Hawks draft the big Oil Kings goaltender Sebastian Cossa. - RickJ
If we go goalie prefer Cossa over Wellstedt(sp) but hope they do not go in that direction as I believe Lankinen is pretty good (imagine if he had semi-decent defenders in front of him?) and believe Commesso is going to be very good. We need more top talent up front (top 6) and hope for Sillinger or Lucious or one of the top 8 skaters to drop to the Hawks. |

21-22 schedule is out. First game at Colorado on Oct 13. Next two games on the road too. Home opener against the Islanders on October 19.
Hawks play EDM against Keith three times. First two away on November 20 and Jan 18. Keith returns to the UC on March 3. |

I am not sure about a settlement. It would have been in the Hawks' best PR interest to get this out of the news cycles, imo.
Or they believe they have the grounds to dismiss. Which it seems to me they do based on the 10 year statue. But I am sure it is more complicated than that. - Elbows15
That's how it works; plaintiff's case value goes up once the legal stuff (such as a motion to dismiss) goes against the defendant. Until then the defendant often won't settle for more than peanuts. They think they'll have the case thrown out.
I believe in this case, the suit was filed 10 years AFTER the statute of limitations expired. In other words, 10 years late. There are ways to get around them, but it is a big mountain here.
I wonder if we're going to find out which players continued to harass the plaintiffs in later years. |

To a raucous house - hope they give it time for an extended ovation and don't just squeeze the video into a TV time out |

I'm good with Sillinger too. But I think Cossa is absolutely the best goalie in the draft and the Hawks really have nothing behind Lankinen. |

Ok I’ll say it- that was one of the dumbest posts I have ever read. And I live in LA,have lived in sh!t neighborhoods in New York and LA, have never been robbed, never had a gun or knife pulled on me, never felt threatened (and I rode the bus for the first 10 years I was in LA and was working in South Central). The homeless situation here is dire, but it is all over the US including in rural America (Google rural homelessness and see, and how it’s also linked to the opioid epidemic in rural America) it’s just not as noticeable there as in big cities due to density and other factors that we could debate till the end of time but this is a hockey blog. - Revco38
Easy to say for someone whose never been a victim. That makes your statement extremely unempathic. How many victims does there need to be to wake people like you up. I know defund the police and give the homeless an endless supply of drugs, see San Francisco). Let thieves off the hook, because they need these things.
The problem with big cities is extremely poor management. Like Lightfoot said, the crime rate is going down, 3 mass shootings in the past 24 hours 1 dead 28 injured. It’s not her fault. When offered help from trump she exploded. Biden offers help, oh that’s fine. Pathetic partisan BS. And it’s almost always the left that does this.
You want to end the drug problem? Bomb the drug producing countries. Want to curb violence, declare street gangs domestic terrorists, since they are terrorizing neighborhoods. But the left uses them as their pawns. |

Note to the crowd....
A poster has placed political bombs in the water. Some may respond to the content. If the original poster then complains about political posts, that would be hypocritical. |

Do you remember the days when we could all unite against your or Paul's alter-ego VopatsRush regardless of our political stances? |

I do indeed! I still enjoy the banter with all posters, including without hesitation, Sage, who I have met and consider a very good person. Despite the disagreements.
And, for the record, I am not Rash. That sneaky bastage, Paul, is my guess. |

Ladd was not good enough to even get dressed on a 4th line and Ghost is not the type of D Hawks need. - CSKA1981
My post didn't say that Ladd and Ghost were players the Hawks should target. I was pointing out that they got 5 draft picks, including 3 seconds and a third that were obtained for just money. Heck, send Z to Philly, and see if you could turn 1 of the seconds into a first. |

I think it's highly unrealistic to "throw boys out there and expect them to be men." There is no set time table to when they actually mature mentally, physically and understanding the game but I highly doubt it's in the first three years. The superstars are the exception and I haven't seen any of those since 19 & 88. - rpeters01
Well superstars are rare for sure, I'm sure the Blackhawks were skeptical Cat wouldn't be able to duplicate his 1st year and he did even better the next year playing against the best players in the world. After 164 games they realized they had themselves a hell of a hockey player they signed him that summer in fear he would do even better in year 3. Which wasn't the case but he was a beast last year on both ends of the ice
Now let's talk Kubalik, i didn't think Kubs would perform as well as he did his rookie year, and so many people want to ship him out of town, this kid just keeps performing, scored .67 points per game his rookie campaign and remarkably duplicated that feat in year 2 with no top 6 center but a hustler like Hagel, while playing a better 200 foot game. That's 124 games played and i just think he's going to get better.
Then there's Strome who is heading in the other direction, the Hawks have the contract they want with him and he'll be pretty easy to move come trade deadline if he doesn't treat his off season training like his Blackhawks career depends on it.
I'm really curious to see what Hagel does, i think he's one of those late bloomers that we had the wonderful fortune of falling into our lap.

Kubalik is a different animal he was a man when he got to us. Dinky has been a pleasant surprise but further proves, the exceptional good ones are often good from the start. At least Dinky was 20 when he got to us however no small (ha ha) feat to make the jump for sure. |
