I am am not over paying Kubalik either. - wiz1901
I'm not sure he'll be with the team come October. He's the part along with picks that'll net a top 4 defenseman in the next month or so I think. Affordable cap hit for a short term, top 6 winger and proven scorer, attributes attractive to most teams. From some reason, I just get this feeling that JC doesn't put enough faith in Kubalik. |

I am not going over to the Oilers board, but I wonder if this Larsson departure was in the cards in and Holland knew it.
They should be happy that the got Duncs now...
Nah, they probably are not. |

There were a number of reports (both national and from Chicago) out that the Kraken made no "side deals" with teams to either select or not select a certain player from said team. There certainly may be deals for players they picked from other teams which we will see later today. - Chunk
Thanks! I haven't seen those reports.
I hope they can find a taker for DeHaan.....and Frankenstein. |

I think most of Vegas’ success came from all the side deals, we’ll see how it plays out for the Kraken later today.
Sad truth… Seattle’s defense is already better than Chicago’s. - DarthKane
Kraken goaltending is better too. |

Francis didn't do other teams any favors by taking on their dead weight cap hits even though he could have gotten sweeteners to take them off their hands.
Now he has the cap space that other teams wish they had to take on some selected free agents. Maybe he'll flip some of his excess defensemen in trades for players he wants, not what was exposed to him. |

I think it will greatly depend on who Stan can trade, but I would guess that Vinnie is going to walk. Hagel will get slightly more than that (maybe $2.5?). Gaudette won't be on this roster. All the others seem to be about right. - Chunk
Maybe they could get Hagel on a Jarnkrok-type deal with 4 or 5 years at 2,5. That could be a hell of a bargain. Hagels got only one season at the show, maybe that would be ok to him.

I would explore what his value is on trade market and see if he could be part of package to get a top 4 d man not named seth jones. Unfortunately i think thats what happens. |

I have to believe the Kraken pick of John Quenville, was just to have a body to make a deal. There will be a team up against the cap, like Tampa still is, and they will trade Quenville for somebody like Tyler Johnson. A local Seattle guy, with more of scoring touch than some of the other forwards they have. |

Kubs had a really good year without a center and Kane. I thought his rookie year he was a one trick pony but the past season shows me he wants to be a better all around player.
Guys who can put the puck in the back of the net are vital they need to be held on to. Top 4 dmen are vital to but what's the point in trading for one if you lose a 30 goal scorer, to me you end up right where you started |

If Francis doesn't have any side deals then that poor Kraken franchise.
I can't believe how much Oleksiak and Larsson got, that's good money for mediocre defense |

Yeah Darth is correct. A top 4 of Gioradano, Larsson, Olesiak and Dunn is nice on most teams, better than the Hawks. Add a solid goalie in Dreiger and they'll be in most games. Not much scoring upfront but Quenneville will go into Al Secord mode with Eberle and Beniers on his line and score 50 goals this year. - Popsghostly
There is no doubt that will happen. |

Oil are in desperation mode. From the news, I'm feeling like they'll have another Clarkson on their hands with Hyman if they sign him. Hawks need to steer clear of those types of signings, which strangely I feel Stan will stay clear of. Those types of signings are OK if it gets us a cup like Campbell and Hossa but we are far from it. - Popsghostly
Keith will be playing 28 minutes next season and suck... |

Not only is he a scorer, but he improved his 200’ game as well. I also don’t recall Kubalik getting a ton of PP time, I’d like to see him stick around. |

What are your wishes or optimal endgames regarding the following players? I´ll give it a shot first...
Gaudette - 2 years, 1 million AAV - Could be doubt he signs that.
Hagel - 3 years, 1,75 million AAV - a bit high and probably 2 years.
Hinostroza - 2 years, 1 million AAV...or let him go. - anything is possible.
Kampf - 2 years, 1 million AAV - too low...
Nylander - 3 years, 1,5 million AAV - too high and won't be 3 years.
Suter - 3 years, 2 million AAV...or trade for an upgrade in a needed position. - I'm not sold on him at the $2M mark but that would be a contract that really doesn't matter.
Zadorov - 2 years, 3,5 million AAV...and a trade. Or a miraculous rise into a dependable top-4 destroyer. Yeah, I know... - I don't think Zad will sign more than one year in the $3's.
I think its vital that Stan stays firm and cold in the negotiations because there are plenty of question marks on this list and no need to give anything extra to anyone. - FeatheredFinn |

Larsson is a decent #3, I would have done a 4x4 as well. He would have been a good add, then trade Boqvist and Strome for a LD. Murphy(your favorite), Larsson, and Mitchell on right side, Kalynuk plus X and X on left side. |

Just curious if hawks have any side deals with Seattle? If so be interesting for who and for what. - Scott1977
I doubt it. Most of the players they picked the Hawks have someone similar and the players the Hawks would be interested in the Kraken probably don't want to give up just yet or too cheaply.
If Stashoo has any deals in the works it's with some of the other 30 clubs. |

This gives you a look-see on the guys from past drafts and adds to the window on your 2021 picks who are close like McTavish, if it doesn't count in the ten games and your a pro.
There is a part of elite juniors who who need a higher level as junior is not a challenge or as much a learning ground. - wiz1901
Yes the Junior rule is bad it f'd up Dach he was a man playing against boys even when he was pre-workout Dach. He would have had very little development in Juniors risking injury. Instead he got his a-- kicked in the NHL not to mention burning off a year of his contract. |
