Curious to see what trades, if any, Stan has lined up prior to UFA starting.....have to figure maybe 1-2 of Zadorov and/or DeHaan or Murphy.
Sounds like he isn't against spending some on UFAs so that should intriguing as well....always fun when the actual happens so we all can stop talking about mock conservations about trades/signings that beat a dead horse. - SteveRain
He may be willing to trade players, but is anyone interested in what we have to offer player-wise? |

The million dollar question
What we are offering, good possibility the answer is no, what they are asking for, probability we won't let those players go. |

Mark Kelley believes the goaltending depth in this year's NHL Draft is "really, really strong."
He said Jesper Wallstedt and Sebastian Cossa are certainly worthy of a first-round selection. #Blackhawks |

Per his own press conference the answer is yes....may not be the guys we as fans want, but he said, he's getting inbound phone calls on teams looking to replace what Seattle took......that's before addressing any other non expansion trade draft chatter which according to LEGIT media, Hawks were active. |

Bowman says Alex Nylander is already 100%, so he'll definitely be ready for training camp.
Toews, "we don't know... None of us have a crystal ball to know how he'll feel in September."
The earlier comments on/from Toews sounded a lot more positive than the comments today. I sincerely hope, for his sake, that getting back on the ice and into workouts didn't cause a setback. |

I guess we should thank Francis for a month worth of speculation on hockey sites.
Exactly correct that no one bit this time around.
Francis let past practice from the Vegas experience skew his side deals.
Do we BLAME that initial Cap freeing trade of Marc-Andre Fleury and more to the Knights for the tone setter?
(I am gonna bet that Francis had nibbles on side deals but was afraid start with a modest one that saved (say Morgan Geekie for Carolina as the continue to emerge as a challenger) a mid or low end player and the Karken got a late pick or farmhand that MIGHT develop.
I am certain the GOOD ole Boys network talked amongst themselves and didn't collude, but figured not all of the big names old stars and second and third lines were going to be selected b/c of the Cap hits and their age, and they all surmised Seattle was going to want Cap to buy them some first time UFAs/ or have room for some bigger trades that bring a star over.
I guess their cap space is thought of as a better bargaining tool than most of the high end avail bales they passed on.
Time for a new speculation:
If Seattle cannot trade a player back to his original team, could they have taken more than one with the idea of swamping them?
What difference a day make son many of the players!...other NHL clubs might have had interest prior to the draft, but NOT at the price of finding a protected spot.
If so, WHO is the first guy they trade?
Who do YOU think he is?
I am going to go with the selection from Pittsburgh, Branden Tanev.
I don't think the pens were throwing his name about a month ago, just thought they would find a way to keep him. - wiz1901
Didn't they introduce Tanev to the fans? I doubt they trade one of the 6 players that they trotted out on stage. |

This is true, I have a friend with a son in MLB, and he has an accountant to figure that out, I believe they pay on a monthly basis. |

Maybe he's trying to coax teams in spots 1-10 to pick both, so the player they want drops to them. |

Bowman on the Expansion Draft: "Some teams did lose a player they didn't want to, and they're having to shift their focus. We're getting some phone calls on the inbound side, trying to see if they can replace a player they lost. The Seattle thing was fine for us." |

Great work, Theo!
What’s up everyone?
Lots about to go down in the next couple of days.
Sounds like Stan may have some moves in place. I would predict 1-3 depth forwards moved. There’s just too many there.
I can see Zadorov flipped for a pick/prospect.
And my take on the Seth Jones front is that the Hawks should absolutely look to acquire him but not at the expense of Dach or DeBrincat.
Hope you all are staying happy and healthy out there!! |

Hey TC! Glad to hear from you again.
I also just saw these:
Marc Bergevin says Shea Weber has several injuries (ankle, foot, knee, thumb). "Even missing a practice for him wasn't an option. He has a lot of mileage...He won't be back next season, and probably won't be back for his career."
"We met with Jo, and Jo feels great. He's focused and he's ready to go."--Marc Bergevin says Jonathan Drouin will return to his team.

Holy poop! actual perspective!
More Stan Bowman: "There aren’t 32 #1 defensemen in the league. I was looking at this yesterday. There’s probably 10 to 15...and they don’t come available too often. If they do, you have to investigate: Could it work...whether it’s through free agency or through trade?
Also:
Bowman on the Expansion Draft: "Some teams did lose a player they didn't want to, and they're having to shift their focus. We're getting some phone calls on the inbound side, trying to see if they can replace a player they lost. The Seattle thing was fine for us."
Stan said outright he IS willing to trade players to the aforementioned teams to alleviate their roster jam and get some assets back. I get the sense those kind of trades are very likely.
Bowman on offseason plans:
"[The salary cap] is not going to preclude us from doing anything. We have some flexibility. That was a big part of the Duncan Keith trade... We're going to be able to pursue some players if it works out. We're also having some trade conversations." |

Wow - wonder if NHL or NBA will follow suit
@TomPelissero
The NFL just informed clubs that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week season in 2021 due to a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will FORFEIT and be credited with a loss for playoff seeding, per sources.
Massive implications. |

Per another source (not sure who): Oilers aren't going to qualify Kahun. |
