Boqvist showed significant improvement from one year to the next, so Barker comparison isn't fair, seemed earlier this year he really struggled with his hip and transitioning from forward to backwards, came back from Covid and was much more fluid and effective
- BetweenTheDots

But he's barely an NHL defenseman at this point and he's the best we have.

Murphy is our best dman and Boqvist should be much better this season if his improvement throughout last season is any indication

Kalynuk is solid to. And they are both kids, Adam is only going to be 21 this season. Murphy may be the better dman but both Kalynuk and Boqvist are smarter, just a matter of time they both pass him by.

Ghost going to AZ

Hawks should’ve made that trade he’d be here for 2 years and replace Z as the most hated defensemen on the team we could then just non tender Z if we could trade him

Paul and Lou,
You guys need to move up to the Fry Station like me, pays way more and then it will only take 35 years.

- savvyone-1

I’m confused!? I just got a promotion, and a raise, FROM the fry station.

California targets everyone.

In Mill Valley, where we lived, a "Millbilly" refers to someone who's originally from Mill Valley but can no longer afford to live there.

Unless you’re homeless, blm, or antifa. California is morally bankrupt, the entire west coast is. I can’t imagine a top FA signing out west. Especially the Crapen.

Not every decision any GM makes is a gold plated success. Stan’s had some clunkers.

They can but lots of athletes and celebrities have residences in florida to declare with zero state income taxes. Seeing a lot of people moving from CA to TX, specifically Austin, as that tech area booms...cost of living price per sq ft a home is less then CA, and ZERO state income taxes.

It does play a role and I believe some teams that reside in these states can get away with lower amounts due to said person NOT having to pay state taxes.

We at Toyota moved our entire HQ, 4,000+ people, from Torrance, CA to Plano, Tx about 4 years ago. The north Dallas real estate market is on fire, as we weren’t the only company to move there.

The people that didn't want to leave LA retired or took the buy out package. I haven’t heard anyone who moved say they made a mistake.

To get a decent house in LA or Orange County, you’re approaching $1M. You can do that quite nicely in the north Dallas suburbs for half that. And TX property taxes are about 67% of those in Cook County IL.

Why would Tampa get rid of Sergechev? He is locked up for 2 more years at $4.8 mil. before he is a RFA. By the time he is re-upped, Tampa will have cleared substantially all its cap space. They will give away Johnson, Palat, Killorn before even thinking about giving away Sergechev.
- LAHawk

This. Of course, Sergechev would be targeted if he were available but there have been no indications he is. He's a cornerstone of their D with Hedman. Add give up Mcdonough and probably even Stamkos before they offer Sergechev.

Per multiple sources:

Goodrow signs $3.642M x 6 with Rangers.

Hall close to a $6M x 4 with Bruins. As others have noted, that type of deal may set the bar for Saad, i.e. he's looking at less than $6M AAV on his next contract.

Well, at our shack -- burgers aren't the #1 selling menu item -- it's the fries they clamor for and management has tied fry production to higher pay.

I suppose it has something to do with people going meatless (although our fries are getting crispy in lard but I guess the public cares more about the taste and crunch than what they are dipped into to get that way!

I hope his dad and his agent understand this and don't cost him the best possible deal being obstinate again.

Hall >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Saad

Saad is a very good role player who needs skilled players to play with. He is what he is and will start declining in a few years. Anyone who pays more than $4 - $4.5 for him will regret it. Same comment for Hyman.

But with 30 point player Goodrow gettng $3.6, anything is possible.

100% thought the same thing.....not comparable IMO...didn't Hall win a hart trophy?

Saad is a nice complimentary player who does very well come playoff time, when engaged.

yeah visited a friend who moved to Austin in May. It was nice....little too artsy/weird, which I know Austin prides itself on, for me.....the new Tesla factory is insane.

had to drive down to the city Sunday-yesterday and again in September. hadn't been down there since 2019 and I can say I didn't miss it. What a crap hole the city has become.

2 trades I really hope we see are.....

DeHaan flipped with minimal or no salary retained for anything. At this point I could care less what comes back as his cap hit and injury history make him, IMO< just as urgent of much needed move as Zadorov

Zadorov....may likely get somebody to give you maybe a 3rd, but I don't think much more then that.....3rd organization in 3 years about to happen for this guy, and if he's signed long term, I pray/feel for that new fan base.

Makes no sense...are Canes getting another goalie or will resign Mrazek?
- CSKA1981

Send Delia to FLA and Subban to Canes fir assets. Trade Strome to VGK for Fleury and more assets. ACQUIRE ALL THE ASSETS!

No Hyman is best? Great - now we’ve introduced female anatomy to the board. Can politics be far behind?
