Pitlick from SEA to CLG for a 4th in 22.
If you count SEA, CLG will be Pitlick’s 6th team after being drafted by EDM in 2010. |

yeah visited a friend who moved to Austin in May. It was nice....little too artsy/weird, which I know Austin prides itself on, for me.....the new Tesla factory is insane.
had to drive down to the city Sunday-yesterday and again in September. hadn't been down there since 2019 and I can say I didn't miss it. What a crap hole the city has become. - SteveRain
Chicago? There is new construction everywhere..... Fulton Market is booming. West Loop is still on fire. Pilsen and Bronzeville are booming. Lincoln Yards is going to start soon. |

With a name like that, maybe BGKARRAS was right with the Ron Jeremy reference. Maybe he was an understudy.

I agree. In the spring I went downtown on a couple of Fridays for my Covid shots. Many stores closed, boarded up, panhandlers everywhere and foot traffic on a Friday morning was very light.
Walking down Michigan Ave. I saw a sandwich board at a corner for "Healing Crystals and Psychic Readings". Yea the Mag Mile. - Rota's Rooter
That is because no one was going into work. Everything was remote.....the Mag Mile is fine.
The Loop and River North are still pretty light on foot traffic and will continue to be that way until everyone is back in their offices.
What about all those abandoned malls and strip malls in the suburbs?

Difference is I am not going to have a high risk of being....mugged, shot, and/or car jacked in the suburbs vs the city. You may be right but you also have a LOT of people figuring out if they aren't having to work downtown, why spend the money on rent when they can go out to the burbs and get a house and work remotely.....wait until all those commercial buildings downtown go vacant. I can you tell the Mart will have 3 to 4 floors available to it by October of 2022. |

So many people leaving high-cost “blue” states for the low-cost “red” states - Texas, Georgia, Florida, Arizona - what effect do you think that will have on the politics of those states in a couple of years?
The Republican Party knows. - StLBravesFan
Not sure that all Blue state voters are Dems. Perhaps most of those who are leaving are R's? Could be more "separate but equal" based on political belief, where people of different political beliefs live separate from each other. Blue states bluer, red states redder. Bad news. |

This is true...the Chicagoland/O'hare real estate market is crazy right now. The impact of the so called "exodus" has not been felt at all. |

True. I also know several people who have moved back once they realized school systems and infrastructure in southern states are not very good.

Seth Jones is not a #1. His numbers have been declining for years and his linemate hasn’t seen his numbers dip at all.
This is why I said that Bowman should target Sergachev from Tampa. They need cap relief, we have cap room and we need a #1.
Come on Bowman. - Diamondhands
Jones would at least be an entertaining player to have on the ice. Him and Panarin were the best players on the ice for either team in that 2018 series against the caps. Can't believe he became a bad player in 2 seasons.
If you want to talk about numbers then Hamilton should get you off. He's an analytics darling. I think he's a good player and would throw money at him but another guy that gets a lot of grief.
Jones is a big, strong, fast, exceptionally skilled player who has done some heavy lifting in the past to carry a team - unless the asking price is really absurd I don't know why you wouldn't want a guy like that on your team. |

Yup. People create/enable bureaucratic monsters, then flee, only to rebuild the very thing they were trying to get away from. |

We shall see - the demographics and projected demographics I’ve seen indicate because of increasing youth and “incoming” from “blue” states, the states I mentioned are increasingly turning Democratic - or at least becoming more “purple”.
Georgia just elected a Democratic African-American and a Jew to the Senate, in addition to giving it’s electoral voted to the Democrat - Texas may be in play in 2024 and 2026 - Arizona has Democratic Senators and went for Biden in 2020….
But it seems like it doesn’t take much to turn the demographics around, especially over a several- year period, so…we’ll see. |

This is certainly a part of it - they want what they’re leaving behind, but with better weather and a lower cost of living.
What was the mantra in the Northwest States back in the 70s - don’t Californicate Oregon…. |

Obviously we'll never know, but I really hope that Stan was at least trying to get in on the Ladd and Ghost deals. Maybe they were asking for more than AZ, but AZ got a lot for just $$ |

I think that works on both sides......too many people toe party lines regardless of looking at the performance of said leaders. This country MUST start putting in term limits. IF the presidency can only be 8 years, why can these career politicians lock themselves into seats for decades.........
On top of that, for the life of me, if I lived in Chicago I would really hope there would be a MASSIVE upheaval of leadership down there.....How a Kim Foxx and Lori LIghtfoot get re-elected is truly remarkable.
For those of us who travel for a living, it's embarrassing to have to address the crime of the city. "is it really that bad....." I have ZERO Chicago pride. IF I resided in a neighborhood where almost every night in my neighborhood I had gun shots going off, people being shot/killed, mugged, car jacked, I am 100% likely to NOT vote in the same idiots who run on change, but do nothing once elected. That goes for either party. |
