Toronto didn't miss out on a Cup because of Jack Campbell. That's laughable. The Leafs are simply not that deep and all of the weaknesses were exposed In the playoffs.

Ek, thanks for calling around all day on the goalie carousel. So confusing. I have some initial questions.

Why do the Leafs like Holtby? And why would the acquisition cost scare them off. The Canucks would likely take anything for him. Why is his $4.3M not a problem, but Kuemper at $4.5M is?

Why are the Oilers looking to sign someone for 5 years simply because they chose not to draft Wallstedt? Wallstedt was not going to be their goalie for the next 5-year window. So maybe they simply didn't like the player at that spot. But I'll play along...they want to sign someone for 5 years. Why target Anderson? Wouldn't it make more sense for them to look at Kuemper? P.S. Kuemper is a western Canada guy.

Carolina has already said they plan to sign 1 of their 3 UFAs...Mrazek (doubt it, he already said he plans to test free agency), Reimer (not that good), Bernier (bank on that). Then they will sign another UFA. But maybe that's just a smokescreen to make a trade for Kuemper?

The Ducks should put Gibson on the market and see what he can garner.

From all I’ve heard they like Holtby (4.3M )and Fleury ($7M) is just too expensive.. , but both would cost them more than they might be willing to pay and both have a big cap hit.. Their main target appears to be Darcy Kuemper ($4.5M) from Phoenix

I would also add that correlating team success with a high-priced goalie is not really proven. Sure, this year was Vasilevsky, Price, MAF...but look at previous years.

Last year, the Cup Finals featured a $3.5M goalie versus a $2.5M goalie.

The year before, St.Louis won with Binnington making the league minimum $650K. That year, Carolina went on a run to the Final 4 led by Mrazek at $1.5M. How much did Corey Crawford and Matt Murray make when they won their Cups?

Surprise Buffalo isn't on that list. Here's a team with 2 Rochester goalies signed. At worst UPL might be the backup. But if Linus sign somewhere else they don't have anybody. Plus they have 38 million dollars to spend. Be nice to hear a rumor on some other teams.

I've always thought you just throw crap at the wall to see if it sticks. After the past few days I'm actually having visions and dreams (or nightmares, depends if your face appears in them) about you actually crapping in your hand, taking one of your crazy rumors, that you've wrote down on a post it. Then mashing the post it to said crap and actually launching it at your office wall. I hope to never actually see footage of this. Btw Detroit won Cups with who in net? . . . Can't quite remember if he was any GOOD?? . . . What was his name . . .hmm. . . Oh yeah OSGOOD!!! Dont remember him making all that much on his contracts. Goalies are voodoo, you get a hot one at the right time you can do anything. Money doesn't stop pucks!!!

It's an easier narrative to blame it on a goalie making ~1.5 than 4 stars making half the cap, or a powerplay that couldn't put the puck in the net for half the year.

The asking price might be too steep for Toronto to pay. Maybe Vancouver is asking for Matthews? The cap hit of $4.3M is also an issue. So Kuemper at $4.5M could be a better fit.

I like the Leafs offer-sheeting Samsonov. They will have to pay, but they get him at just the right time. Still doesn't fix their defense though.

I’d like to see the Leafs go after forwards like Ritchie, P. Suter, Jankowski, Chucky, and Heinen on 1 yr deals to play in their bottom six. Trade Kerfoot with a pick for Kuemper. I know the cap makes it hard but I’ve done my job as a fan(👆🏾) and now Dubas needs to do his 😆
