EGREGIOUS signing by the Caps. Wow! Really brain dead!!!!!!!!!

Needs to average 33 a year to break the record. Hope he does it considering he has been through the lost lockout season and shortened covid season.

Ovi deserves it. Business-wise, Ovi is worth as much off the ice as on it and having him only ever in a Capitals NHL uni is great for WSH brand and even his own. Without a doubt that record is achievable (and all with one team) and that is big business for WSH and will keep fans in the seats through the entirety of his career.

We may have not had it great as Capitals fans over the duration of this franchise - but watching Ovechkin's career has been a ride that I will never take for granted. It's been a privilege to watch this mega-superstar grow, mature, and just gut-it-out in Washington and take them to the promised land of Cup Champions.

It wasn't easy and it was well deserved - and for something I had no part in earning, damn did it feel as good as it gets when it was happening.
