Enough with the forwards. I know we signed Montour but we need a stay at home defenseman. I really hope Montour isnt Matheson 2.0. He seems to get out of position often by rushing the puck and leaving his defensive line mate to deal with a 2 on 1. With Ekblad, Weeger and Forsling, we have enough offensive defenseman. Strolman stayed at home, who is going to do that now besides Gudas? Please sign Reinhart and then spend the balance on defense. |

I’m with you, GudbransonFan. While he probably didn’t fit into the plans, I would have loved for the Panthers to have acquired Dillion before he was traded to WIN.
I also think Stillman could have eventually become the stay-at-home type we’re looking for, but he was shipped to CHI. |

Montour had some struggles in the playoff series, but I had no problem with him re-signing here. Not a huge overpay, and with Ekblad back he can slot down in the lineup. There was talk of FL wanting to extend Montour before the playoffs began. Zito may still try to add a LHD, maybe using Vatrano as a trade chip. |

If we go into the season with this same defense all I can say is deja vue baby. |

Never a fan of bringing back a player who left. If they are any good the question is why did you let them go in the first place |

Boughner Richarded him around. Mamin should’ve been playing but Boughner kept scratching him so he could let Haley go punch someone a couple of times. |

They have to earn their spot is all.
Never too much depth at forward, just gives Zito more pieces to wheel and deal with, if only to recoup some draft picks. |

I agree with having options to flip. |

While he wants more than I think he’s worth, what do you guys think about Zadorov (at the right price)? I like his big, lumbering old school defenseman style.
EDIT - Never, ind. Sounds like he was traded to Calgary. Haha. |

It’s cool to not have to out bid others and wind up overpaying a FA for too many years. I like how Zito is doing this.
Looking forward to this season getting started! |

With Grubauer signing in Seattle, I imagine Driedger becomes the backup.
What a turn of events for him. Haha, that’s wild. |
