So EDM Defense is:
Nurse-Barrie
Keith-Bouchard
Russel-Ceci
EDM really needs Klefbom

Are we relying on Keith to be the defensive partner? I could see Barrie with Nurse, and Ceci with Keith, which will likely be a horrible second pair. |

That’s my bet, yes. |

Talk about a clear path to the net, i like it. |

Suffice to say you like this deal?
Does Hyman/Foegele open up possibility for Nuge to move back to 3C? Who is the 3C again? - RonPielep
Don’t have one. |

Foegele is a long-time favourite of mine so I'm biased He's an excellent middle-6 W that gives the team a lot of options: Puljujarvi down, Yamo down, Nuge to 3C, Foegele with McLeod, etc. |

These deals are fine in the immediate term, but Holland is killing any youth and cap flexibility for the future. I don't believe the team is an elite contender next year either. |

Apparently he was good with the Pens last year.
Feel like Barrie and Ceci get poop on because of their time with the Leafs but maybe people should be poopting elsewhere because both of them turned it around when they left Toronto. |

I hate Holland put us in the position to have to move Bear, we are going to miss his zone exits (especially when Smith isn't in net), but Foegele is a good return and the type of mid/bottom 6 player we desperately need. |

Ceci has been better since leaving the Sens and had a strong year in PIT last year. Still digging into the numbers to figure out exactly how much I'd trust him. Not keen on the term but at least he's 27. |

Ceci was good as a bottom pairing guy for $1m. He won't be an upgrade over cheap depth down like Bear or Jones so spending a lot on Ceci makes no sense. |

His time in Ottawa was worse poop, last year with the pens was his outlier year. Pens fans seemed to like him in the sheltered usage he was deployed in, but we will get the Ceci that was overexposed in Ott/Tor by playing him 22 min a night in a shutdown role. |

Trading a young top 4 dman away for a 3rd liner and replacing him with Ceci is the move that’s gonna put us over the top |

Yeah, probably correct. I'd rather have him at 3x4 than Poolman at 2.5x4, though. |
