Menell has little to no value at the NHL level as a regular, He did have a nice season In the KHL but It's the KHL, It's not a great league by any stretch.

While I don't agree that the KHL is not a great league, I believe there is some real talent there...I will agree with Menell not having much value. It's been rumored for a few weeks now that Guerin was trying to sign Menell. I read this is Menell's camp wanting more than he is worth and Guerin just not playing the game with a 7th defenseman. Toronto is starved for defense, so if Menell does actually make the roster, BG picks up a late draft pick. One that can be used on a completely total risky pick.

So, to me, it looks like the D pairings will look like this..
Brodin - Dumba
Goligoski - Spurgeon
Kulikov - Addison

And still thinking that BG has a trade in the works for Dvorak. And is anyone else giggling that the Wild get to face Kuemper a lot now? He stands on his head for 1/2 the game vs the Wild, but generally folds up for the other 1/2.

You would think that Guerin could have gotten Rinehart. A 1st and not even a top G prospect was all it took for FLA. Maybe he didn’t want to play here. Look for the Wild to go after Stepan.

Oh, that's right. Forgot about that. Still think getting Kuemper instead of resigning Grubauer is a mistake.

Jon Merrill Is the latest Wild signee.

Grubauer Is better than Kuemper.

Speaking of the Central division, I think the Stars are the most Improved team In our division so far this off season, If there core players can stay healthy Dallas could finish as high as second In the division.

Even Dubnyk won in the AVs net. They spend so little time in their own zone that Kuemper should do alright.

Unless a trade is made, someone low cost and short term like Stepan is about all they can afford right now.

I'd take Stepan, 2 years, 1.5 annual.

Here's a thought for a center for the Wild, Sign Stepan, Trade Rask, Sturm, Greenway, To for LaBanc and Hertl.

Russo said yesterday that the Wild have backed off the Jack sweepstakes.He said they want too much and are unwilling to share medical records. They should just start the season and show that he can play.

Eichel Is a headache, No thanks!

Eichel to Minnesota makes NO sense, The Sabres want a kings ransom which would be a HUGE setback for the Wild rebuild and then what happens 2 or 3 seasons later? Mr.Eichel will start chirping once again how he Is tired of losing. You have have to look at this from a big picture angle.

Not true. They’ve already announced several times in the media that they were in negotiations for Eichel. Whether it makes sense or not is another thing. Guerin has already complained to writers that the ask is too much.
