According to the PuckPedia twitter account, Tatar has officially signed with the Devils for 2 years, with a 4.5M AAV. Fantastic deal if its actually done. His agency has confirmed it on instagram

Really couldn’t be more perfect. Fitz is the man.
Only potential question mark is 3rd line C. But even if it’s not filled I’m cool with us figuring it out.

Great signing especially for 2 years

Zacha Nico Bratt
Tatar Hughes sharangovic
Kouk ? Foote
Wood McLeod Johansson

Who do we have as 3 C as I feel zacha is best on the wing and playing with Bratt

Not sure if holtz or mercer will be ready

If anything Kuokkanen and Foote would be swapped. Johnsson could play that 3rd line LW with Kuokkanen on the right. Boqvist could center. Maybe someone else in the system impresses at center.
I view our 3rd and 4th line as 2 bottom lines to be deployed fairly evenly. McLeod is good enough to handle “3rd line”, as is Wood, Johnsson, Kuokkanen, Boqvist, etc. More a matter of fit than anything. But that top 6 is likely set. Maybe Kuokkanen really impresses and bumps Sharangovich to 3rd line.. who knows.. or Zacha struggles etc. we have guys that can be moved around pretty easily.

Zero need to rush the kids and Fitz knows it. We’ll see what they show at camp, but we at least have some stability... while not being tied to Tatar into his 3rd year if he slows down. Heck he may have trade value end of next year.

Agreed. I really love what Fitz is doing. Major improvements to the team and havent taken any type of hit from a futures perspective

Its been way longer than a week. Armstrong is holding his ground on the high asking price and teams inquiring aren't increasing their offers. Fitz has said multiple times that hes not going to chase/force a deal

I think Armstrong is simly creating fake news. If teams were interested in Tarasenko and offering a 1st rd pick, or high prospect, then Seattle would have scooped him up and made that deal. This is starting to look more like a Fleury situation in my opinion. I don't blame Armstrong for trying this tactic, but I think Tarasenko could be taken for a B-level prospect or later draft pick. Now if Armstrong was willing to retain 50%, then I am starting to believe him.
