Meh how is this “inside” the puzzling off-season. You didn’t even try to analyze the moves. Other than saying you don’t like all the moves except the bear trade. TDA is a direct replacement for Dougie(on the PP) at 8mil less per year, for all the baggage attached if you don’t have faith in RBA dealing with that idk what to tell you. Bear and Cole are direct upgrades over Bean and Haakpana/Fleury(if you want to go there). As for goalies sure it’s a bit questionable, at worst it’s slightly worse, at best it’s better, and it’s likely lateral while getting older and showing Lafontaine a clear path to the NHL, which IMO definitely factored into the decision to trade Ned. As for forwards I dislike the term on the Martinook deal but for his locker room presence and leadership on the fourth line it’s fine. Assuming Leivo is an extra forward that leaves two spots for Drury/Jarvis/Suzuki/Bokk. Which needs to happen this year or next year and if it’s only one, Leivo can slot into the 4th line. Given I think the only other addition they’re looking at is a top 6 forward(pushing Nino or Necas down to Staal’s wing with one of the prospects) and resigning Svech. But maybe I’m entirely incorrect and Canes fans should be jumping off the proverbial cliff due to a seemingly awful offseason.
