Jesus Christ guys, it’s a 3rd pick. My god this place is unbearable sometimes

Just enjoy us kicking the piss out of every team on the scoring board, and on the ice. Ain’t no one (frank)ing with us anymore
- Slimtj100

It’s not so much it’s a 3rd round pick. It’s the fact we got a 2nd for Buch and now paid a 3rd for Reaves. How is their trade value even in the same universe

The "Rangers' Tom Wilson problem" is between Wilson's ears and in the NHL Ops office. Until the NHL accepts that, these dumb moves will continue to be made.

You have your view, I have mine. Didn't say you have to agree with me. If it was for a fifth, that word likely would not have been used.

Jan…time to hang em up bud
You’ve lost touch
Very good trade
Our 3rds aside from Jones…where are they
Reaves is at the very least tradable
He is still tough as F
Helluva trade in my book.

I think the people who are pissed are those who want Eichel, which will probably happen anyway. I do not want Eichel but whatever.
This is a very efficient move for a team that absolutely should make the playoffs but not ready to win. Huge move for panarin, zib, Fox, kakko, Laf, Kravstov

Jan...the whole fan base pissed and moaned all year how we got pushed around all season. People lost their jobs because of it of how bad they got pushed around. Now they make a concentrated effort an addressed it, now you’re gonna bytch about that too? My god how can a GM win this way

I cannot stand this place anymore lmao jimmy makes a joke and there is a lynch mob after him. Every (frank)ing move they do is a bytch and moan fest.

It’s a 3rd pick...who has what a 5% chance of making the league in 5 yrs! Oh the horror! I can’t anymore

Gary Bettman and his stooge-protecting b.s. refs and dept. Of player safety did this. I would have preferred Ritchie over Reaves, but this was bound to happen. I don't blame Drury or Gallant or even Sather or Dolan on this one. Watch Wilson doing the championship belt thing with no jersey on after he abused Panerin, Buch and Strome. Bettman did this. And stop saying this team which probably isn't done with its off season moves and hasn't played a game, is broken. The league is broken and until it's fixed, this will happen.

My view has nothing to do with Eichel. I feel it's an overpayment for a limited asset. The team already got tougher with Goodrow and Blais as well as Tinordi, when he plays, and added a physical quotient in Nemeth, even though he isn't a fighter. Getting Reaves adds to that but not at the cost required. You disagree, great.

Here is a third rounder for you that panned out, Pavel Buchnevich.

People lost their jobs because James Dolan is reactionary and listened to Glen Sather, the pushing around piece was the convenient excuse. I laid out in another comment where I thought they had already gotten tougher. Also said in the blog, I hope I am proven wrong.

So you can have your view and that's fine. I disagree and I am an idiot? I have a dissenting opinion and don't remember taking you behind the wood shed for yours. I don't share he same view, that's all.

It’s possible to disagree without being an bumhole about it (certain people excluded) especially when it’s with the guy who writes the blog and devotes his time to giving us a forum to discuss this stuff in

Let it go Jan. In about 3 months you won’t even remember Pavel Buchnevich. He’ll be just another ex-Ranger🤦‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Again…look at our last however many 3rd round picks….it’s a crapshoot bud. Totally worth the pick for a glaring need. Do you seriously think Martin Clutterbuck Wilson etc will be running around with Reaves and co on the other side?
Rangers have plenty of scoring and prospects. They have plenty of high end talent at forward. This move is beyond worth it asset wise.

Whoa... tough crowd in here.

Rangers need toughness, so be it. Let's see what Reaves can do to be a deterrent for the cheap shot artists the NHL breeds now.
I do not disagree with Jan here. Could have been a 4th rounder. But it seems like the Ranger's wanted him, so 3rd it is.

Hey, we still have Capt'n Rooney. I'm happy.

I didn’t call you an idiot. I just think “inexplicably” is an extreme overreaction. Almost comical you actually wrote it and went with it

I can add the almost customized jersey to my Gaborik, McDonagh, Zuccarello, Lundqvist, etc. ones.

Spot on Jan.

Reaves can hardly skate anymore. He's not even remotely the player he was when Gallant last saw him.

I'm with you on the third line. Remember when Mika got hurt in 2019 and by almost every measure our best line was Kreider, Chytil, and Buch. That'd be a pretty good 3rd line and keep all the kids in the top 6.

Gallant's a good coach so he'll cover up some of these crazy moves, but I'm thinking long term. I want a sustained run with cup(s) and Drury has shown me nothing that leads to that outcome.

If we are gonna freak over losing 3rd picks, then people need meds. This is not a big deal holy (frank)

From previous blog:

Look, we have sat around now for weeks debating:

WHAT IS DRURY'S PLAN FOR THE RANGERS?

Well, now we know the answer! Everyone here may not like it, but its his PLAN and nobody can accuse him of only going halfway. We are going to be a big, tough, nasty team. You hit our skill players, we will drill 2 of yours.

We have had too much skill and not enough sandpaper for YEARS! It has gotten us NOWHERE in the playoffs. Now the pendulum has swung the other way. Lets see how it plays out. This is a team that is being constructed for a long run into the playoffs.

When we get another center ( fingers crossed ), then Gallant will have his team.
The cost of Buch and a 3rd round pick is NOT really that substantial. This might just work!!
