I liked the cruise and caviar a bit better than the scenery, but it's pretty striking. Way out in the middle of (frank)ing nowhere

What cruise line did you take? I’ve always looked to do something like that.

My extent of Russian travel, outside of Moscow, is a train ride from there to Kazan.

My trek home from there was my longest time traveling

Train from Kazan to Moscow, stuck at the airport of a like 6 hours, flight to JFK and drove from NYC to Boston.

I started running again a few days ago. Try and get my legs going for ball hockey/Ice hockey season that starts in about a month.

It felt awkward as hell, and that extra 10 pounds I gained over the last year is not helping at all.

- Scabeh

I had a panic attack last Monday, as I realized I haven't worn a dress shirt in 16 months, and none are going to fit for my mother's celebration of life.

I bought four new shirts.

Celebration isn't until the end of August.

You can actually leave for 6 months, come back and everyone (mostly the flaky 5) acts like you just poop in their corn flakes.

I’ve said it 10 million times, if every little thing triggers you and you need everyone to agree with you all the time then HB isn’t for you. Some people desperately need assurance from others (see the flaky 5) to feel like they have a place in this world.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

I won't wade into the specifics of the Flaky 5 but yes I agree with your assertion that being triggered by everything and anyone means HB is probably not for you.

I don't completely disagree with your assessment and thoughts on Nylander, but I'm not going to get all up in your kitchen because of it.

I’m sorry about your mother, Wedge.

I have a wedding next Friday and had a similar experience. I said a Hail Mary before seeing if my suit fit. Surprisingly, it fit better than when I last wore it to my brother’s wedding which was a big relief

Really?

Because I might have to go to a job interview and all my suits are too small.

Wanna pull the old switcharoo?

That’s how it should be. Agree to disagree, make solid arguments/counter-arguments. But be respectful throughout. Some people take it way too personal when someone disagrees with them.

Too big?? Damn you really have been cycling your ass off

My big problem now is that all of my dress shoes are still in my office

And I don’t even know if I can just walk in there. I don’t even know where my ID badge is

We're showing up at the wedding tomorrow and if I'm the only one with brand new shoes and a slightly off fitting suit then I'm going to be really surprised

Good excuse to update your styles though!

Also I was consdiering getting the suits tailored but not sure if I'll be able to, might have to sell on Kijiji? They're pretty nice suits

imo, when you start calling/labeling people as flakes, you are making it personal.

Something I thought I should add:

If you do need a dress shirt, there's never been a better time to buy. Good lord, they were cheap.

And I walked by a couple of tie displays - nice silk ties lovingly displayed on tables. Who the frank is buying ties right now?

I must have more than 50* ties (including bowties) - I've accumulated over the years. I don't know how much use I'm going to get out of them - weddings and funerals, I guess.

*It's a higher number if you include the rugby ties I accumulated in high school - but I don't often have the need to wear 110% polyester skinny ties.

Yeah you won’t be alone.

Last time I wore new shoes to a wedding it was a disaster. I was moving and grooving and absolutely tore up the back of my heel. They really needed to be broken in.

I call them flakes because they’re being flakes.

It’s a silly, non threatening term I use because it’s no one should be triggered by it. But, y’know, it’s HB and everyone is hyper sensitive.

The language used towards me (as pathetic, weak, and childish as it is) is far more abrasive. But sure, I’m the bad guy.

Depending on your relationship with your mother, choosing a shirt and tie combo that gives her the opportunity for one last tsk shouldn’t be dismissed completely.
