Shoulda never traded Phil the Thrill. 20G and 43P last season, only 13 PP points.
Rather have Phil at 6.8 than Zucker at 5.5. - j.boyd919
Not to mention we need right wings to keep lafferty on the bench. Poulin, Légaré, Zohan, and O’Connor most likely won’t amount to much but at least there are options to give a shot on the left side. |

You’d be better off running Sid-Carter-Blueger-ERod down than middle than wasting the time or effort to get someone as useless as Bozak. - Feds91Stammer

Tatar gets a 2 year deal in NJ. 4.5 per isn't bad for what he brings. I think the Devils might actually be pretty good this season. |

Good. Fine. Would have liked an extra year but probably smart for ZAR to bet on himself and keep that low cap hit to one year in case he has an offensive pulse this year. |

Yah, buying that extra year would have been a UFA year, so ZAR's camp was probably asking for at least .4mill more per season. |

Keeping Phil probably means we don't sign JJ or Tanev, could have had the opportunity to select Keandre Miller in the draft, coulda kept Sprong and Addison.

Legare is a RW, Poulin is listed on some sites as playing RW as well but it's not confirmed. Zohorna can supposedly play all 3 spots but was a C in WBS and LW in Pittsburgh. So they are possibilities along with ERod and Heinen.
Now are 2 good enough to hold down spots? Tbd. |

Hmm. Interesting to play out. May also mean no breakout year for Rust with Malkin and no Kapanen.
JJ was already here and Sprong gone by that point. True on Tanev, GMJR even connected them. Guess we'll never know exactly how it would have unfolded. |

We will have what to start the season?
Jake Sid Rust
Zucker Carter Kapanen
ZAR Teddy McGinn
Heinen Rodrigues PLAYER
If Simon has recovered from his shoulder surgery I could see Sully giving him a spot. Zohorna could impress in camp, especially if they let him play Center where he had some strong showings in Wilkes. Angello and Lafferty are known. We will probably just cycle through that 4th line in different combos while Malkin is out just like we did last season. |

Curious why it took this long to fire the goalie coach. Seems odd.
For example, it's the type of move that makes people think Jarry isn't a problem. If people buy the logic, it makes Jarry easier to move before now.
If Jarry plays this season and doesn't improve, it'll be hard to move him next offseason even with only 1 year remaining. |

Is this team better? Is this team better with a healthy Malkin? What if Jarry comes out and plays like we know he can? Does that make them better? |

Better than what? Last season? No. This is a playoff bubble team. Enjoy it while you can. Lottery days are on the horizon. |

with the current roster construction I don’t think we have to worry about Jarry in the playoffs this year. |

The team is always ALWAYS better with a healthy Malkin. Is it better than last year? Probably not, but who the hell knows until it happens. If Zucker bounces back to his production from 19-20 and Marino does the same this team is still top 10 in the league at seasons end. |
