I hope this kid uses his skating to his advantage. Hopefully after seeing his buddy Caufield reach the Finals, it gives him incentive to get to the big league.

I needed a laugh. Then I read that the Oil are paying Nurse > $9M /year.

That did the trick

16 goals 20assists at 6’4” 220lbs on defense and throw in the amount of minutes he plays per game is pretty good no? Although I’m Not sure it’s 9mil good though.

Darnell had a 60 minute game in the playoffs which is insane. He is a work horse for them. Seems like every decent young defenseman is getting paid too much this off season.

Werenski, Nurse, Dougie, Makar, Heiskanen. Outside of Makar those contracts seem a bit much right off the bat.

Hopefully the Bruins can work the cap magic again and keep McAvoy around 8 but it is getting harder to do that with each one of these massive pay days.

He plays that many minutes because EDM pretty much has no choice.

I can see McAvoy getting 7.5-8 over 6-8 years. Easy decision for me to take McAvoy at 8M over Nurse at 9.25M

Good yes - no one is debating that.

$9.25M "good"?

donnie painted himself in a corner with his FA signings, I mean, why have two good, cheap young goalies, no one wants that.

Going into the season with two goalies with a combined 15 games played is a risky move.

Halak and Swayman at the bare minimum in my opinion. Ullmark isn't the sexy move but it has potential to be a good move.

I think Halak and Swayman would be more risky than Swayman and Ullmark. Halak had been struggling for a bit even before he got COVID. I don’t think either is ideal, but if I had to choose one or the other, I’d go Ullmark and Swayman.

Goaltending is also voodoo though, so who the hell knows

Yeah I prefer Ullmark and Swayman but I honestly haven’t seen all that much of ullmark except against the Bruins. I think he kept some games close that shouldn’t have been

I thought both Vladar and Swayman played well last year, and yes, short sample, but that looked like a position they could have saved a few bucks.

They still dropped from paying goalies 9.75 million to 5.75.. I think Tuukka still has a chance to come back. Guess it will depend on how good Ullmark is.

they have 1 mil in cap space. How is Rask gonna come back? Same with Krejci.

Krejci is not playing in NHL - so no need to worry about fitting him in.

Maybe if Bruins take a page out of TB playbook, Rask can come back just before post-season starts - assuming he signs a contract.

How does it work? Can Krejci sign for example a 900K contract in the NHL and come back to the Bruins once the Czech season ends?

I don't think he's coming back at all.
