Love the Yegor signing. great price and term is the perfect evaluation period. Go, Fitz, go!
Tarasnko at the right price, sure. If not hopefully raise the bar for the Rags. Almost as happy with Tatar for smaller price.

Kevin Dineen is announced as the new AHL Utica coach. I actually think this is somewhat of a big deal, hes a sizeable upgrade over Dennehy imo |

I'm MUCH happier signing Tatar than trading for Tarasenko. We got Tatar on a cheap, irrelvant deal that will be up by the time we have to lock up the young guns long term. Fantastic job by Fitz. Tarasenko is a waste of time. |

Lets wait until its official first!!! But yeah if we get Tatar on a 2 or 3 year deal i dont think anybody can really complain out that. He's not the shooter Tarasenko CAN be(if healthy, which is a big question mark) but like you alluded to it only costs cap space. Also, over the past 3 seasons, Tatar ranks 19th in the league in 5v5 points per 60, all while only starting just under 50% of his zone starts in the offensive zone. He's a legit top 6 winger. I'd say he would be a good bet for 20 goals and 45-50+ points |

According to the PuckPedia twitter account, Tatar has officially signed with the Devils for 2 years, with a 4.5M AAV. Fantastic deal if its actually done.
EDIT: his agency has confirmed it on instagram |

Didn't have to give up assets and good that it's only a couple years and helps us
Tatar Nico Bratt
Kouk Hughes sharangovic
Johansson zacha Foote
Wood McLeod ?
Who am I missing?

If we can get a 3c that would be great as I feel zacha is best on a line with Bratt
Not sure if holtz or mercer will be ready either

I think Holtz is ready. If we're not trading Boqvist he deserves to be in this lineup too. I don't think he's had enough opportunity to throw him away in the AHL.

Every-time they put Boqvist in the lineup he never disappointed. He def earned his spot. But with FA, possibly Holtz, its like they dont make room for Jesper. I fear his talent/potential might be wasted in AHL. Whats his waiver status for this year? |

Yeah i think Boqvist would take that 3rd line center role. Keep Zacha on the wing. Also, i dont mind keeping all of Foote/Mercer/Holtz in the AHL next season and let them cook, but they will all certainly compete for a spot out of camp.
I would also Fabian Zetterlund's name in the ring here, i think he can be a Bastian replacement on that line with Wood and McLeod if we move Kuok up with Johnsson and Bo. He's not as big as Bas but he plays the type of game that would fit in with how that line wants to play. Maybe even Studenic? Definitely some options to fill that spot |

The Devils havent had a pure sniper since good old #44 Stephan Richer was putting pucks in the net.
To me Tarasenko would do more for the team than Tatar.

If hes healthy, then sure, hes a better shooter than Tatar. But theres also a chance you give up assets for him and he plays a combined 30 games over the last 2 seasons of his contract. According to Friedman, there are teams who are concerned about what the medical records have shown for Tarasenko. This is just a fantastic deal |

Love the Tatar signing. Blues clearly being ridiculous with their ask so better to sign the guy you know you can get than wait and feel forced into something. Great job by Fitz here. |

Clearly being ridiculous with a 40 goal scorer when peanuts are being offered. If he wasn't still good or expected to get at least thirty then why are all the nyi njd fans so upset he hasn't been traded yet. It's cause you were led to believe you would get him for nothing lol. Jokes on you |

43 goals in 75 game (with 40 assists). Not too shabby...
Truthfully, I forget he scored that much in the regular season.

13 goal scorer? Uhhh. He has scored 20 goals or scored at a 20+ goal pace in every NHL season he has played in since he became a regular except last season, in which he scored at a 16 goal pace. Hes essentially guaranteed 20 goals and 50 points in an 82 game season. And hes actually durable, unlike someone coming off multiple botched surgeries. |

That 13 goals could be more than tarasenko if he isn't or can't stay healthy
There have been reports that teams have been scared off by his medicals so if tarasenko can't stay healthy or is a shell of his former self then it is a better deal
If he is back to his top form self then many teams will be kicking themselves
If he was so good and healthy then the blues wouldn't be looking to move him and wouldn't have left him unprotected |
