tbh, I don't miss him.
You didn't hear a peep out of the locker room when he was traded either. |

Saw that coming. He'll be gone by next summer. Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out |

He will be the centerpiece for Eichel. Predict Fiala, Addison (who was drafted when Kourmanois was AGM in Pittsburgh), one of the Russian center prospects and a 1st. |

If the Wild get a top 6 center, Fiala will be an asset moving the other way. But if they don’t and he has a good year, they will have to overpay to keep him.
They need him as a highly skilled player to compliment Kaprisov if they don’t get a top center. Guerin knows that if he has Fiala and Kaprisov and no center, they aren’t going anywhere in the playoffs. Look for Guerin to trade Fiala during or after next season for a center. |

The Wild just lost 2 of their top 5 D men. There is no way they are sending Addison to Buffalo.

No wonder Eichel has not been traded, everyone in Buffalo thinks he is a Gretzky caliber player. When he gets a hundred points a season he might be worth more. Until then an established player and draft choice is what he is worth. |

Ryan O'Reilly cost an established roster player, 1 top fifty in the NHL prospect, a first round pick, and a second round pick. Sure, the prospect's development nosedived in Buffalo's system, and the roster player quit hockey rather than play for Buffalo... but at the time of the trade, that's what they thought they were getting. Eichel is a better player, and under contract for longer.
If Wild are given Eichel's medical history and are comfortable with it, a fair deal is something like Fiala, a first, a second, and one of Boldy or Rossi. I think the hold up likely Eichel's health. Buffalo wants to get that much while his health is a question mark, but Guerin isn't that stupid. |

Have to believe that the health issue may be a bit of a smoke screen. Why is Jack playing recreational hockey in Boston with other NHLer's if his neck is so seriously hurt? If he is so seriously hurt could he permanently end his playing career?
A trade with the Wild makes sense to me. Fiala would give the Sabres two seasons before UFA, maybe he signs long-term or gets traded for other assets. An A prospect (Wild has five I would consider A - Boldy, Rossi, Lambos, Addison and Walstadt) pick one. A first Rd pick (conditions around Jack's health limiting games in 21-22), and either a B prospect (O'Rourke, Firstov, Khusnutdinov)or a 2nd rd pick. I earlier suggested Addison because many Wild fans scream at the idea of losing Rossi or Boldy. Sabres have no need for a LD or a Goalie prospect. |

Given the Sabres have not gotten what they wanted it may be time to back of the price tag or deal with a guy who wants out. I don't know if I make that trade given no one else in the league is willing to part with the kings ransom. |
