I voted for more than 2.5. But I was thinking more like 2.25 you left a 50k Gap. Plus Ryan Suter got over 3 million so hard to say if he takes a discount because the Islanders have come so close to the final two years straight

Not sure why we didn't sign Robert Nilsson instead...

Nothing exciting here, but at least the Islanders are no longer being ignored in media coverage.

Is it true that the Cats are going to a General Admission ticket policy to fill their building? Asking for a friend.

They were covered before Lou got here. Not as much. Except it was more for this.

I'm sensing you're being facetious with this post.

Well, we are the second oldest team in the league. I think if we DID sign Chara, we'd rocket right to the oldest.

being the second oldest team in the league is only an issue if it's your core players. Our core players are all young (Barzal, Beau, Pelech, Pulock, Sorokin, etc.) Having depth guys and 3rd line guys who used to be other team's top line player isn't really an issue for me... some of our "old guys" will not even play.

While true, and I'd agree with you, the entire 4th line is 30+. Lee & Bailey are both 31. So it's not just fringe or depth players that are getting older, it's heavily relied on guys that have some age to them. Not saying it's a bad thing, just that it may become a concern if we don't win a cup in the next year or 2. To your point, the Caps are in a world of hurt because their whole core is in their mid 30's. They don't have a defenseman under the age of 30 either. We'll see how that works for them.
For some reason I thought Palms was about 35-36 years old. Didn't realize he's only 30.

Well, yeah. In a hard cap world, 5 year plans are a thing of the past. Right, Garth?

If you asked me before I looked at this link what age I would have NHL players at their Peak.. I would have said 26-28 ish. this is much younger than I thought... 22-25

https://hockey-graphs.com...s-for-nhl-skaters-part-1/

Makes me question the whole playing Veterans instead of 20 year old kids even more actually. Production wise though it really drops off a cliff after 34/35.

I would say production may drop off but some players tend to play a bit smarter the older they get which aligns itself pretty well with what trotz is doing. I am absolutely not saying this applies to everyone of course but I think you get what I’m putting down.

I do get it... the stats graph did surprise me though.. speaking from pure Islander's history standpoint.. a LOT of our top prospects didn't "click" until they were 25/26 (Okposo, Bailey, Brock, etc.). Usually they seemed to finally figure it out when we were just about to give up on them.

I have the same issue. I found that if I go into another thread, click reply on any comment, then come back here, then it works.
