it would be tough to make a top 5 for me.. the incredibly delightful and helpful LIRR staff, the fantastically low Prices of the concessions at the Arena, The sight lines of the seats themselves.. especially on the one side that blocked off 1/3 of the ice. the off center scoreboard.. the really nice neighborhood it was located.
I could go on and on how wonderful that arena was... I mean the lovely Rust color of the building itself that made it look like a run down Wearhouse even though it was only a few years old. |

Geez, and here I was sure you were going to have to change at Jamaica..... - JohnScammo
You are going to change at Jamaica for the first season, at least according to the guy who gave us the tour of UBS last week.
They're saying the permanent Elmont hub could be ready as soon as the end of the season or as late as the beginning of next season.
Until that happens, people coming from points east (and I think anywhere, honestly) will have to go to Jamaica and then backtrack (if coming from the east) to the Belmont station. |

I totally agree. I am concerned that hockeyislife may find himself in Ronkonkoma before he realizes that he needed to change at Jamaica. |

Or more likely, the final destination for all those LI 20-somethings who get poopfaced in the city and fall asleep on the train, only to find themselves in the town that I still refuse to admit actually exists:

He is just coming in on a PTO, but still....he's decent offensively and can help on the PP but that's about it. His defensive ability is hot garbage - eichiefs9
Why not just sign Chara at this point? If Greene struggles maybe Bolduc can step in later in the year? |

Maybe they are. There's been very little news surrounding Chara which, in this offseason anyway, seems to indicate he'll be an Islander
I'm excited to see how Bolduc does in his first "real" pro year but I think things would have to get pretty bad on the blueline to see him up with the big club. |

I get the worry about Chara and Greene's age but I still bring in Chara at this point and the Isles can make adjustments as needed.
Bolduc would be much better off with Barry and his staff then the Bridgeport staff but if he is not ready then he needs to stay in Bridge. |

Ryan Murray would have been a nice signing unless he had his heart on Colorado?

Yeah, I don't really even have a strong opinion on the invite. Maybe he works out and maybe someone else takes the spot. And there's probably more than a fair chance a separate move is made before the season starts.
I'm just saying we kind of thought all the cloak and dagger stuff this offseason was leading to some mind-blowing payoff, and, well, maybe not! Maybe a deal fell through...I doubt all the coyness was to fool the world with a Gustafsson PTO. Or maybe nothing was ever there in the first place. |

Maybe he's just there to push Aho with a little competition? Who knows, it's just a camp invite so nothing to get to high or low on. Still a month left to go before Lou has to show all his cards |

People have mentioned Chara, and I could see the Isles maybe going that route but having someone like Gustafsson hanging around to sub in a bunch so you don't overwork guys like Chara and Greene. Maybe they even go with 8D and 13F in a situation like that.
Or maybe there's another invite or two. Or there is a trade in the works and this is a "just in case" thing. Who knows! |

Chara would bring toughness to the defense. Maybe Gustafsson or Aho can sub in for Chara and Greene? |

Arthur Staple @StapeAthletic
now
#Isles haven't announced anything (crazy, we know) but it appears they've signed veteran pro F Andy Andreoff, presumably to a two-way contract. Played six games with PHI last season.
Looks like RFA Dmytro Timashov may also be back.

The good news is, with the previous administration a PTO would equal a definite roster spot. |
