Highly doubt they trade Bjornfot or Kaliyev.

Byfield should be off limits.

Lol who do you think they’d trade then? You’re not getting a top 5 centre for chips and dip.

The cap is a non-issue. The Sabres HAVE to take back money at least equal to Eichel's contract just to hit the cap floor. So it should end up being a money in - money out deal. Teams should be happy to dump a bad contract for a year or two.

I disagree as at least with the Kings it's a big issue in terms of what they can give Buffalo to somewhat minimize the huge salary coming back with the giant contracts of Kopitar and Doughty already on the books. Now I realize there are ways like having Buffalo retain salary but the Kings only bad contracts are Brown's and Quick's and I highly doubt at this stage of their career they would agree to go to a rebuilding team? I could be wrong there and maybe the Kings can do a handshake deal with Brown who's from Ithaca agreeing to bring him back at some point... I mean anything is possible but if I'm the Kings I want to see Eichel playing again before I commit to sending 4 top prospects and maybe even a roster player like say Kempe. This deal is much more doable at the trade deadline IMO.

Let's say Eichel gets a 100% clean bill of health, even though I don't want him as I think it's just too risky I'll play along

LA gets Eichel
Buffalo gets Turcotte,Bjornfort,Kaliyev, future #1 and Kempe

No way the Kings include Byfield but that's 3 first round picks, a very high 2nd round pick and Kempe's contract. I do believe the Sabres are in a corner as everyone knows he wants out so I think whatever team who gets him can offer a somewhat lowball offer, still a good return but not nearly as much if he were healthy and the public animosity wasn't aired. I honestly hope the Rangers take him as I really want to see what LA's future centers of Byfield,Turcotte,Kupari and Thomas can do before we trade them.

I moved to the Tampa area 6 months ago. I have been in Az for the last 15 years. Always been a Kings fan. Didn't root for Tampa until the final and only then because it was Mtl they were playing. That said, if the Kings made that trade, I would start rooting for Tampa or Panthers. It would be REALLY stupid to make that trade.

What nobody seems to keep in mind is that Buffalo is the one over the barrel. So, team taking Eichel will have to be the clear winner or there will be no deal.

Buf aint bent over any barrel. They dont hafta trade him, he just requested one. Play piss poor for the rest of your contract and see where that gets him if hes not traded lol. Youre getting a proven star talent and if youre the team that wanta him, make me say deal. Not the other way around. Wine piss and moan wgaf buffalo should not trade Eichel unless they have something in return that gegs them back toward contention.

To me they are over a big barrel as every team in the league knows he wants out in the worst way, I mean yes ultimately they don't have to trade him but I don't think that's an option at this point. Brisson is known around the league as a deal maker so he was brought in as the new agent to get #9 out of there as quick as possible.

This situation reminds of when the Kings traded Gretzky to St. Louis, the whole league knew #99 wanted out of LA so St. Louis gave them quantity and not quality and I think ultimately Buffalo will suffer the same fate.

Brown only has a 7 team no-trade list, and Quick doesn't have a NTC/NMC at all. Very doable.

But and it probably hurts them the Kings are almost too loyal to those 2 in particular and I just don't see either saying "yeah I'll go to Buffalo" at this point in their careers and 2 guys past there prime probably isn't too appealing to Buffalo. I mean they make a lot of money to just be mentors.

I just don't think salary wise a $10,000,000 cap hit this year can be squeezed into the Kings cap with the majority of assets going to Buffalo being prospects on their ELC contracts.
Doughty 9.5
Kopitar 11
Echel 10
That's an awful lot of salary being chewed up by just 3 guys but what the hell do I know?!
