The problem with Russia is not talent. they have plenty of that, especially at forward. It's getting everyone on board with a playing system and playing as a team. Too many egos trying to do their own thing. It's been that way for a long time. They did win a gold in 2018 but the big egos were not there that year. The coaches will have their work cut out for them. |

That's basically a roster of NHLers. I kind of doubt that Russia will care to send the message that all of the best Russians play in the NHL, whether it's the truth or not. I'm no expert, but I expect them to invite at least a few KHL stars, even if some aren't as good as the NHLers whose spots they take. They need to represent and prop up their own league somehow, as well as give fans of that league something to be proud of. |

A team Russia with a single KHL player... brilliant. |

Namestnikov at 2C?? He can't even do that role on Detroit. They will bring a guy from the KHL for that...Shipachyov, maybe even Datsyuk.
Also Malkin and Ovie rarely click together. Panarin will be on the top line. Also, Kaprizov will not be on a 4th line behind Tarastinko and Kovalchuk. Those guys probably don't even make the team. |

Between the NHL and KHL there's gotta be, at the absolute minimum, 20-30 Russian forwards who are better than Vladislav Namestnikov. Maybe quite a bit more. How in the world do you have him at 2C (!!!!). |

Most people don't watch Detroit. So maybe the last memory of Namestnikov was as a competent middle 6 kid in Tampa or NYR? But anyone watching him now should know he's not going to be a 2C anywhere. Also might have been worth mentioning that Kuznetsov is the obvious 2C but is not eligible. |

As incomplete this team is, if Vasy decides to stop everything and your first 2 lines give you the necessary firepower. Russia is good enough to compete for the bronze medal. |

I love how very little effort you put into anything. Didnt even attempt to check out stats from KHL to throw some of their names in, just all the russian names that immediately pop into your head. Guess no Datsyuk highlights have been on your youtube recently. It shouldnt take more than a couple hours to research some russian hockey icons in prder to put together a decent roster. God i hope you dont make poop for money from this stuff wit cho griftin ass |

A couple of hours? Only takes a couple of minutes to see that guys like Shipaychov or Datsyuk likely have the inside track over Namestnikov. Gusev is another possibility. I think Zub makes it on defense too.

Says Kaprizov is a superstar worth $10M/year. Then puts him on the 4th line behind Kovalchuk and Tarastinko. |

Certainly even an aged Pavel Datsyuk could be a better option than a number of players listed here...I believe he's 44, but nonetheless still playing and an easy choice over several on this roster..... |
