I’ve heard some talk about moving the franchise to Houston. That would create a good in state rivalry with Dallas. But I don’t see that happening. It seems the NHL sponsors and marketing people want to be in that Phoenix area market. The Tempe arena solution looks like the best option.

They’re definitely building around Chychrun and Keller. They may get something out of Ghost on the power play but he’s bad defensively and 2nd pair minutes are going to expose him. Tough times for the Yotes.

Its unlikely they ever actually move but it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Nice piece, fair analysis of what the Coyotes have left, think they could probably get some more draft picks out of some of these guys at the TDL, Dzingel, Larsson would garner interest from teams looking to add for the playoffs, obviously Kessell is the biggest TDL trade chip the Coyotes have.

It's funny to me that as bad as the Yotes defense is I'd rather have it then what the Jets have rolled out on the backend the last couple years... 😂

Best of luck to the Yotes and their fans, been a lot of tough years in the desert.

With ownership across the league firmly opposed to continuing with this charade, Bettman is finally considering a variety of alternatives. Additionally, there are loud whispers that the Meuelo Group is frustrated and convinced even the not-to-distant signing of Matthews will be insufficient for franchise viability.

With no one left to espouse a continuation of the Arizona experiment, it seems inevitable the Coyotes will call a new city home by the onset of the 2022-23 season.
