Don’t know anything about cards but whenever I read anything I do get an automatic recall of the smell of the stick of gum.

Liked your aside about people’s lives vs what we know. Would only add that it only takes a tiny fraction of that what we (generic) know section to decide we hate everything about them. Appreciate the sentiment though.

Yeah, I appreciate that. As much as it would be nice for that not to be the case, wishing it wasn't doesn't make it any less a reality! If I'm being transparent, that little nugget is my small little effort to put it on people's radar with the possibility it might filter into even one interaction along the way. My "real world" job (psychologist) pulls the curtain back on some really dark stuff on the daily, so little things like this come from my effort to fight the impulse to view the world in general as a cesspool! Find the moments of goodness I suppose...

Thanks for reading! I sincerely appreciate it!

Nah man I’m retired and ache from all the poop I see flying around and worry about where it’s leading so I do appreciate your effort here and your professional efforts even more. Haven’t thought about it till now but given what people must be bringing you these days, I’ve got to believe you’re another critical care responder. Keep up the good work and take care of yourself.

I appreciate that sir. We've been balls to the wall since March 19, 2020 and are showing no signs of slowing. Honestly think it'll be retrospectively, a few years down the road, that we really begin to appreciate the experience and it's impact. I also share your concern about where this is leading, as the window of what is considered "normal" is taking a drastic shift, and I really hope we snap back from it. Fingers crossed...

Do take care!
