Bust of luck to Patrick. Being a person who also deals with chronic migraines, I can feel for where he was coming from, although I’ve never had anything that shut me down like that. Usually clusters every few months that are pretty debilitating. Can’t imagine finally making it to the big barns only to have a health issue which cannot be healed like a bodily injury.

His game took a huge hit when coming back. Obvious regression. But the kid still has youth and a lot of potential.

Hope he rebounds for you

Ek says you guys are making a push for Eichel. Is there room for the $10m man?

Eichel could come to Vegas for Tuch, Smith, Coghlan and Dean (maybe a pick). The salary would work ($10M both ways and Tuch is signed to the same term). If Eichel goes and get's the disk replacement surgery he would be ready to play by Christmas (about the time Tuch is due back).

Why would Buffalo want that package though? Buffalo would basically get Smith for 1 year (yeah he will not be re-signing), Tuch he may hit the 30 goal plateau on a really good team, but most likely a solid 20-25 goal scorer and 2 tweeners.

I mean if Buffalo just wants to get rid of him and be done with it a lot of teams may take the risk with a package that would be more beneficial to them than just a salary exchange.

Great points. VGK would have to include a couple of picks in this package (at least). Smith is just a make-weight. As to whether the Sabres would take any deal, I think the Adams' presser yesterday was a power move. Adams loses all credibility going forward if he caves. The organization isn't going to compromise too much on its price. Whether that's smart or not: time will tell.

Im hoping the best for Patrick. Love a good rebound story. Mostly because my own team never has them

If it did happen then it would be something like this. Lots of up and coming prospects in the Knights’ pipeline. I’m sure Jack Dugan wouldn’t mind being traded to a team that will give him a few looks in the top 6.

The Golden Knights’ prospect system is surprisingly deep at forward and defence. I broke it down a week or so ago in the link above if anyone is interested. Lots of good players for Kevyn Adams to choose from.

My mock offer would be:

Korczak,
Dean,
Dugan,
Dadonov(5Mx2)
Smith(5Mx1)

For

Eichel(10Mx5)

It’s not selling the farm, but this is a center with question marks surrounding his health and a GM negotiating from a position of weakness. Dadonov and Smith could be dealt for additional assets at the deadline. Korczak is an absolute beast and will be a household name in a few years.

It worked for Sakic, but I’m not ready to believe the Sabres are out of the Forest of Bad Decisions just yet. My heart just won’t allow it.
