This years version of the Wild Isn't as talented as last year's, We are thin on depth offensively and I predict a 7th place finish for Minnesota In the Central. The Metropolitan Division Is currently the best In the NHL.

I actually have tempered expectaions for the Wild this season... not sure how this squad could possibly be expected to out perform last seasons squad with all the new, young faces in the mix. Not to mention a weaker defensive corp. Still trying to figure out why buying out Suter was thought to be a good move. That being said, i have to agree with Shady, Wild will be at or near the bottom of the Central.

The Wild knew buying out Suter wasn’t an ideal move. The move was made to prevent a potentially poisonous room.

The Wild making the playoffs will depend largely on injuries for the Wild and divisional opponents. If Rask and Benn are getting much ice, it could be a long season.

I agree Minny...Rask we all KNOW is terrible on the ice. And from what I have seen in the pre season games, Benn is just as terrible. Hopefully, neither see all that much ice time this season. I'm still confounded by the signing of Benn. There HAD to be someone for about the same price that is better.

Forgot to take the day off of work to go to the Wild's practice at Amsoil. But a friend of mine took his son and stopped by my office afterwards...so his son could beam about getting this Wild hat signed by Kaprizov. The kid was smiling from ear to ear. It's little things like that, that will endear Kirill to the Wild and their faithful. The hat may have lost a little value though, as Rem Pitlick signed it on the other side.

I see Ek here has said the Wild will win the division this year. I don't think they will be that good, but they should be decent. I guess the biggest thing is how much did the roster really change...and it comes down to the defensive pairings. They lost #4, 5 and 6...and really only improved on #5. I think Kulikov is slightly better than Soucy. But the other 2 look like downgrades. So it's really up to Evason to show that changing the style of the Wild and how they play works.
