Habs do have plenty of issues right now. Just to put it into perspective, Bertuzzi had more goals in one period against Tampa than the entire Habs team did in the first 4 games. Drouin is the only one producing offense with a lot of donuts in the stats section for the Habs top offensive players.

They also have problems on defense and Allen is struggling badly.

All this being said, i could see them breaking out of their slump against the Wings...though the Wings usually have their number.

I’m very concerned that Detroit could have Montreal and then Chicago feeling better about themselves in succession. There’s been a lot of rain, though, so maybe I’m just in eeyore mode.

Wings have a 4 game win streak (at least) against the Habs. Wings need to keep that going and just bury them tomorrow night!

Yeah 2 losses against 2 struggling teams could quickly erase their good start and have them sitting with a losing record. Not like i expect the Wings to finish with a winning record this season anyways though. I just hope for a better system for the team and for the young players to improve and take a step forward.

I noticed Suter has zero points and is winning just 33% of his faceoffs. Who called that? Where are all the people declaring him the perfect 2C? Remember someone saying he was better than Danault?

Maybe Stevie should trade for Patty Kane to cover his deficiencies.

Who’s more productive tonight? Suter or Bertuzzi?

Also I’m still upset with Karine for drafting Tatar in our fantasy league.

Yes they do!! We have a seafood place close to Charleston that does a Gullah version of a Po Boy….there’s no “drool” emoji. We love doing a Gullah tour; that culture is so very present in the culinary south, people don’t realize how much influence Gullah has on our culture. Amazing people and describing their food is fruitless; no words.

Like most everyone here, I’m nervous about the next 2 days: angry opponents at their shack, wanting blood redemption. This could very easily go south and derail the decent start we’ve had.
Montreal isn’t the Habs from last year, so I can’t even begin to hazard a guess as to what we should expect, except an angry Original 6 team, hungry for a win and willing to do whatever it takes. They and Chicago were booed off the ice in their last couple of games. This is the time where we need to adhere to the system. If not, bad days.
Suter needs to ignite. Ras needs to crash. O-zone passing needs to be minimal, meaningful, deliberate, and productive. We let the puck play us the other night. Rowney figures to slot in, so who knows what the lines will look like. But they better be tight.
Greiss-Greiss Baby in net, I figure. Need another lights-out performance. D needs to nut-up and take control, quick out-lets because aside from Dan, I mean Jeff Petry, Les Habitant’s D is as shaken as ours. Smith needs to keep the gloves and use the muscle in the fore-check along the boards. No dump passing. Crisp. Deliberate plays.

Nice! Seafood is tricky in the Midwest. When you’re eating near a port or near the shore, you know exactly what you’re getting. I did have some really good jambalaya in Ann Arbor (the mussels were fantastic). Real Seafood does a good job down there

Very true about fresh seafood around here. But listen, seriously: NOTHING beats a Friday fish fry in Michigan. Lake perch, homemade tartar sauce….honestly there is nothing here to compare. We love a good Frogmore Stew or seafood boil here with day-caught shrimp, but sit me down back home and it’s game-on!

Ok. I’ve seen footage of gulf coast restaurants where someone brings a snow shovel full of hot food and just dumps it on the table. Is that like what you’ve seen? There’s a place in Mackinac City called Dixie’s that does pollock really nicely. Right at the docks of the island ferries

Oyster roasts in “R” months are epic. A bobcat with a bucket full of oysters dumping on an iron-plated bon-fire, throw a salt-water soaked burlap bags on them for a bit, then shovel them on a table and grub. Garbage cans (not actually USED for garbage…) filled with shrimp off the boat, corn on the cob, Andouille sausage, red potatoes n a bucket of Ol Bay. I stop at a regional oyster restaurant (Wintzel’s), $7/dozen shucked Gulf Oysters….my wife cuts me off at 4 or so. Ut yeah, snow shovels, garbage cans, can lids….whatever’s handy. I am SO hungry now!!!!!

I will say the team looks much improved this year, but the coaching is still awful. I told my son before the Calgary game that starting Griess was a must has he was playing amazing and that this was there last game on there homestand. Don’t change a winning hand then they should have started navalgovich (speiied incorrectly)in Montreal as we knew it would be a hornets nest. Then are coach benches Hroneck one of our best defencemen yet Dekyser always seems to make the cut. Also when Bertuzzi can’t play since he is an offensive player bring up Veleno. Blashill sucks I hope Detroit wins tonight’s game in spite of our awful coach

Tanguay sucks. If you refuse to give your powerplay one time options you have no business coaching in any league.

Bad coaching, bad coaching, bad coaching what weird thing does Blashil have over the redwing management or ownership to keep his job. Tonight another totally unprepared team with bad player management what an embarrassment
