we all knew what this is. keep bringing the heat and I'd say that's good enough for the year. At least we're not lifeless deadbeats like Chicago.

Big time yikes. - TheSabresTaco
I'm hesitant to bring this up this year, simply because of the little expectations we have for our own team, but it is still October. It's chock full of good teams that play poorly, and bad teams that play well. Not that I necessarily think Chicago is a good team, but I've learned to treat the entire month like Week 1 of the NFL. It's generally a dirty liar. |

Would Chicago be interested in an Eichel? It ain’t gonna help near term but it’s a swing for the fence reload.
1- who would you want back in a deal?
2- could you come close to making the money work? |

Rick: Do the Sabres alter their trade demands for Eichel now that the season has started?
Lance: The timing and lack of suitors will force the Sabres to lower the asking price. Eichel’s no-movement clause kicks in this July, so Adams is slowly losing leverage. Few teams that can take on his salary and the Sabres reportedly have no interest in retaining money. In my opinion, the Sabres will acquire a first-round pick with conditions related to Eichel’s recovery, a high-end prospect, a middle-tier prospect with upside and a proven NHL player to help offset the cap hit. |

Pretty much what I expected in the 1st place, once everything came out with the situation. That's why I would think that 1st isn't until 2023. |

Their missing the true top end forward talent that is required to be a long term playoff team and Stanley Cup threat.
With them taking defensemen with their two recent number one picks, they're going to need a fair bit of luck to find 2 pieces that would makeup a true top line. |

I mean the longer this goes its getting less likely he even plays this year. Even with the Replacement Surgery most things I have read say with contact sports he won't be cleared for probably 5 to 6 months |

If Eichel is out all season, what team would trade him for him and send any players of consequence from their NHL roster? |

They have the most difficult part of the job left to do: finding top end, elite forward talent. |

I don't know 39, the only thing I can think of if someone wants to strike first. |

From a player/prospect perspective, no, as I don't consider any of the common names out there as top line elite talent.
You have to hope and pray they turn into that.
There's a better chance a pick can turn into that, but teams want conditions on that.
It's the true downside to the Sabres not being awful this year or next, as much as people despise tanking. |

There are a limited number of teams that have the cap space to take Eichel without sending much salary back, but how many of those teams are really interested and what are they willing to send the Sabres of value?
The entire thing is a giant, poopty mess. |

"The proposed trades have been beaten to death. Fans know the names of prospects on teams that have been rumored to be in on the Eichel sweepstakes: There’s Connor Zary with Calgary, Trevor Zegras with the Anaheim Ducks, Quinton Byfield with the Los Angeles Kings, Peyton Krebs with the Golden Knights, and literally everything that the New York Rangers have because all of their prospects are amazing and
untouchable."
