Haha. You don’t really see the old school goalie mentality like that anymore where they clear it out for themselves. I think the closest guy that comes to it is probably Mike Smith from a few years back (as I think he’s toned it down). Was never a fan of him though.

Speaking of another Smith…have you ever watched old Billy Smith footage? He was using that stick like a club. Yikes. Haha.

A good test for Brunette over the next few games to see how he handles this little rough patch.

Refing is facked. How can lomberg colliding mid ice with a goalie be a major but guentzel can absolutely crush bob in the crease is just a minor? Thats stereotype

He went a few times lat year, and scored more often than he didn’t. But, yeah there are many you’d expect to see go before him. I guess Brunette was playing the It’s Horny’s Magical Night angle, but it didn’t work out. I wonder more why he sent an exhausted Barkov out to shoot first. Just let Barky catch his damn breath and send him out 2nd or 3rd. He did the same thing against Boston.
Panthers are not finishing their chances like they were during their hot start, but they’re still creating them. PP needs to improve, it’s like they stand still and just pass the puck around until they eventually give it away.
The last few games are reminiscent of the past where they generate many chances, can’t score, start pressing and forget any defensive responsibility. Bob was great again in this game, he bailed them out on a lot of their lapses.

Maybe they got a little cocky after spanking Carolina? They’ve been careless and sloppy too often in the games since.
