1 Defenseman and 1 Line isn’t going to cut it. Management knew it in the off-season and couldn’t do anything about it. So what can they do ? Not sure there is anything they can do this season.

Sign Rask in January and send Sway down to work on his rebound control. Love the kid and still think he's the real deal but he still needs to work on some things. Rask isn't going to fix anything but at least he's likely to steal a few games. Haula needs to sit and bring Stud up to center the third line and let him actually play for a while.

And is Hall using a shorter stick or something? He seems to whiff on everything nowadays...shots, passes, everything...

Bruins don't really have much CAP room for that signing.

Yeah they do, Rask has already said he would pay for beer money with Boston.

Maybe for the rest of this year but what happens if he looks really good after the operation ? Only so much you can spend on goaltending. Like I said from day one Ullmark 5 mill /4 years another Sweeney mistake.

Let’s not make the mistake of thinking Rask alone makes this team a top contender. While the goaltending hasn’t been great it’s the defense that is the problem. Sweeney had money to replace and improve areas that needed to be addressed. When Matt Gryz is your top pair dman it’s trouble. He can’t defend can’t kill penalties and has no physical presence. Reilly is no great defender, little physical presence and Forbert is a big body with no bite. Zboril certainly isn’t a difference maker . He is no better then Clifton with less intensity. Money should have been spent getting some players who can play the identity you keep talking about. You know hard to play against with some snarl . Instead you paid a goalie we didn’t need and some depth guys who aren’t much better than what you had. Only money move I really agreed with was Taylor Hall. Just hope he improves. This team is just not a hard ,defensive, in your face team.

He's gonna sign a 1-year deal for beer money?

If players risk injury during a 1-year contract it won't be for beer money.

I'll believe it when the deal is signed and the ink is dry.

Rask already said that he would sign cheap for the Bruins

"For me, it's about that pride of playing for one team and one team only. I have no reason to chase the money anymore and go somewhere else. It's going to be one of those things where the Bruins are my home, Boston is my home. I've always wanted to play here, wanted to stay here. So the money won't be an issue. We had a conversation with [Bruins general manager Don Sweeney] and I will be a cheap goalie for them."

Like I said - I'll believe it when the ink is dried on the contract.

It's not like the Bruins are poised to win the Cup and Rask doesn't want to miss out. Bruins are not that close for him to sign a contract like that.

If he's gonna miss a bunch of time with family, his wife will want him bringing home more than "beer-league" bacon.

One million dollars for six months work isn't exactly beer league bacon

The Bruins, presently constructed, are more than capable of having a good month and taking a stab at a cup...

What leads you to believe this?

They are worse at C & G compared to last year, and based on the blowouts they've suffered the D is not as good either.

They are a bubble play-off team. Are you hoping they take a page out of the Habs playoff book and stuff horse-shoes up their butts?
