Hang in there JR! Hopefully you will have a reprieve.
It was nice to see Raymond pot one to gain the win!
Tokarski had a great game, and then to let one go thru him in OT had to be a heart breaker. Oh, well I will take it!

Henry - thoughts on the Hovart rumors. Would think he would be a great 1/2C. Fits in the age group. What is the price?

Van is hoping for a 1st, a promising prospect, and a C......too expensive! Gotta wait till they change their front office and come down a notch. I think that one of Horvat or Boeser (probably Boeser), will go to the Avs for Girard, this would address both their needs.

Jake DeBrusk has asked to be traded from the Bruins. Not that the Wings really need another winger but would this help the Wings? Boston need a LD, I would give them Dekeyser! (retain $2M even!)

That is a hell of a steep price. I was willing to start with Berrgren and a second. Not sure if we have the C they would want.

That is their captain and #1C.......
Suter, a 2nd, and McIsaac ...or Suter, a '23 1st and McIsaac...but they won't go for that. Wings will not be willing to give much more, it would hurt the rebuild giving up 3 assets of value more than this.

McI, Rogie Vacon's pads, and 1MT of Mackinaw Island fudge

Listen, I LOVE Bo....and Horvath is a stud as well. BUT, it's WAY too early to look at a trade like this because we're not in a place where we need his talents to make/stay in the running for the SCPO. THAT BEIGN SAID: We could snag him with a strong deal and draft some kids to replace those we trade away (Suter, McI, Ras, et.al...).

Interesting what he could bring to the Wings. Would DEFINTIELY be our 1C, move Larkin to 2C and strengthen the 2d line....

SO....on another note: Boston is next in the hopper tonight. Marchand is rollin; leads to Bs in G, Apples, AND Points. The only thing this guy CAN'T do is play in net, but he can definitely push opponents INTO the net (and does so inordinately often....) BUT he's out for 3 games due to a slew-foot (finally DOPS is starting to hammer guys who play the fringes....). They still have Pasta (and some AWESOME DD commercials, dude's got humor admit it!!), and Patty B. Snayman/Swayman and Ullmark are a pretty god G tandem as well. Ullmark looks like Gumby in net sometimes. They really have a good team and play with a physical edge. Will be interesting tonight! Their PP is on fire (think they're around 25%) as well.

See the Wings called up Kyle CriscoOil (Criscuolo). Haven't seen line-ups yet so not sure where he slots in. Anyone have any idea?

Admit it, gang: The Wings are FAR better than anyone thought they'd be at this point. It's very promising to see how well Rayzor & Mo Sides have played. Gonna be a good one tonight with 2 Original 6 teams going at it!!!!

Hmmmmm....Bergy, huh? I'm not sold on the kid, but I'm not sure he's really had the chance to show what he's got. BUT, getting BH would be nice!! Interesting trade-chip, DR. I kinda like it.

Horvat shouldn’t be on the radar at all for SY.

The 1st rounder could come into play on draft day for say a PLD, Norris, or Necas

Nobody ever wants to give up promising players, but the Wings are positioning themselves this year to be out of the legit 1C sweepstakes. Looking at the roster, that is clearly the biggest need. He is only 26 so he fits the age group fairly well.

Is this team by any means a cup contender this year, no. How often does a 1C show up on the market that doesn't carry a ton of baggage? If you think the Wings window opens in 2 years, then is having a 1C at age 28 a bad thing? He would already have chemistry with the team rather than waiting to sign a UFA.

Hope tonight goes better than the last game against Boston. But yes, way better than expected and keeping it up for more than just a 5 game stint. Finally some excitement.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I guess the big thing is assessing where we'll be in, say, 2 years. I'm not against going in on BH at all. Great player. I just wonder if the ask would be too high and drain some of our more promising talent. You know he ain't gonna come cheap!!

My guess is his cap hit would be around the $7m mark, but you are right. Hard to predict anything with the fact the Wings have almost nobody signed beyond two years.

I would say he would just take Dekes and Namestikov's money.

Larkin takes his own plus some?

Bert takes his own plus Suters.

Zadina takes his own plus Panik, Abby, and Frans money.

Those would be the big dollar signings I think. Raymond and Seider in three years obviously, but hopefully cap starts going up by then. I do think Zadina could end up like a Brad Marchand. Slow starter that ends up on a super team friendly deal.

Ned steals another game... this kid is just getting better and better. Getting him may be the best trade Stevie has made for this team so far. Had to grind this game out... but they got it done.

Staal was an absolute beast tonight. Banging bodies in front of the net and clearing the crease for Ned. Getting the winning goal was icing on the cake. He's a big physical defenseman the Wings need to keep around for playing physical teams like Boston. Glad we got him for the rest of the season.
