While Durzi has tallied on the scoresheet, he's a major liability on the defensive side of the puck. When DD comes back, I wouldn't mind letting Roy take a few games from the presser and let Durzi play in a few more before he's sent back down.
Re the bite, I have no sympathy for the chump Tkachuk. He continued to try and throw while both linesemen were on top of them and then he shoved his hand right in to Brendan's face. He shouldn't have bit him, but he also shouldn't have had his hands near his face at that point of the scrum. Can't stand those Tkachuk (frank)s. |

Why would they sit Roy? With Walker's injury, there's still room for both Roy and Durzi when Doughty comes back. Anderson will move back to the left side and Maatta goes to the press box. Clague comes back in on the right if/when Durzi goes back to Ontario.

Maata has been playing better than Roy has these last several games. If for nothing else, to let Roy reset himself and get out of the mind frame of trying to be an offensive player. He said from the jump that he's trying to score but he doesn't have an offensive defenseman skillset. His shots are almost blocked if there's anyone even remotely near the lane and he's been a turnover maching in his own zone. I'm not saying waive him or even have him sit until the next injury, just give him a blow to catch his breath. He's been in way over his head and it's created a ton of chances for the opposition. |

He's playing over his head right now. He's playing as the Kings #1 defenseman, leading them at PP, PK, and 5v5 ice time against the opposition's best players. Of course he's going to look worse compared to when he was playing in a 2nd or 3rd pairing role.
Put him back in a role that he's suited (#4/#5 defenseman) and he'll return to form. He doesn't deserve to be removed from the lineup. |

When Doughty returns this week, he won't have to play #1 defenseman minutes against the opposition's best players any more. I don't think removing him from the lineup is warranted. Pair him with Bjornfot for 18-20 mins per game and I think he'll do just fine. Certainly a better option than Maatta.

Ontario could use the help. They're pretty shallow at LHD. |

Roy's offensive skills may be coming around. He scored a nice goal last game. I don't think that Quick appreciated it, though. |

What do you guys think about MTL claiming Clague? |
|
|
|
Clague had 4 years to secure a spot on a blueline during a time of huge turnover, yet was consistently beaten out by defensemen with less hype than him. Being 23 and with Durzi looking decent and Clarke and Grans being only a year or two away, he was running out of opportunities, anyways. I don't see it as a big loss. I think that fans hyped him up too much in the first place. |
